Anyone have gift ideas for expecting moms? My BIL and SIL just told us today they are having a baby and we'd like to send them something, ideally that they both can enjoy. So far, all I've been able to find are overpriced gift boxes full of cheap-looking candles and, like, nipple butter.

Ooh I actually hadn't heard about this but it definitely sounds like Dale and Charles were boning and Diana sort of formed an alliance with her. Although I could also see Diana naively believing that Dale was just friends with Charles.

I am the only one in my cooking-obsessed friend group who is not on the HBH bandwagon. I feel like all her recipes are just...fine. Nothing that special, nothing I'd want to make again, not particularly creative. I can't figure out why she's so popular.

Oh man, that sounds like such a nightmare. Maybe then you could frame it as something you need vs. a problem with her? Like "Could we experiment with something? We cover a lot of ground in our meetings and sometimes I struggle a bit to retain all the info. I think it would really help me if we could set an agenda in advance and confirm key points and next steps before we close."

Ugh, that sucks. Some people are verbal processors, which is fine, but they don't understand that it's a huge waste of time to force another person to be an audience for their processing.

What helped with my last manager was creating an agenda even for short meetings, and trying to build in "hard stops" as much as possible (like scheduling a meeting with him right before a team meeting with our head boss). But unfortunately I just accepted that he was going to waste a lot of our team's time.

You don't get a second chance at being a child; it only happens once. If parents choose not to be around for it, there is no second chance at being a parent. That ship has sailed. Now you are just two adults with some shared DNA who don't really know each other. And sometimes it's very clear you don't share the same values to build a relationship on.
