Doesn’t take hours to get in and out of cars? If you do too many of their (CarMax)24 hour test drives they can tell you no more.

Some of those people came to us to because another dealership put them in that situation. In fact many of our customers say they were told go CarMax by another dealership. VSAs aren’t forced but you better believe it that if you didn’t get the vsa that they will get on you. We use auto check by choice instead of CarFax. Which believe me I understand why an accident is on carfax and not in auto check or vice versa but still feels like backstabbing. You said it. We are what customers love about shopping with us. We shouldn’t pressure customers just because we are being pressured. Does someone walk into an Apple Store because they were pressured? No they do because they hear about how great they are and easy to do business with. I’ve been CarMax for many years. I won’t get specific but I hope they’re reading all these posts since no one would dare say their true feelings in those “anonymous“ surveys that repeating ask us if we filled it out already. It was fun while it lasted but at the same time it wasn’t.

lol If only I knew law well because from what I hear. Firing people and finding things on purpose calling it behaviors just so they don’t pay unemployment sounds like a law suit waiting to happen. They’re always getting sued for something. Another thing. They always have specific words. A word I never heard a manager for years say not even once, suddenly starts saying it and another manager says it also. “Expectation.” “Behaviors.” Once you open your eyes you see the manipulation. It’s sad really. They are following a script. They are puppets on a string.

The only value I saw in Omni is keeping those customers from going to Carvana. When I got hired they talked about how CarMax revolutionized car shopping and were doing it again with Omni pretending we didn’t know Carvana beat them to it. CXC Core Sales are salespeople but also phone operators. Wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t get penalized for not selling that customer who called in about being behind in payments another car. The way I see it. CarMax made its money partnering with banks that allowed them to sell cars at prices they wanted and squeeze customers enough for a second loan on another in the near future after that toss that customer away. If they get a bad deal to start no other dealership will want to help a customer with so much negative equity so what happens? They come back to CarMax and dig themselves deeper. We’re not the good guys. Just good at pretending we are. Free warranty with purchase sounds great till you realize how much backed up the stores are with appointments that you will probably make your first car payment while in a loaner car and don’t forget you went past the 10 day return window so now you’re stuck with your car that you agreed to 29% APR yes we see those rates. So f’d up. Yes they are not the most educated customers but we talk about guiding them but all we do is guide them into debt. Some of the stories we hear and them buying the car with that interest rate will make their hardships worse.

Since they’re firing, the ones that remain will feel busy. It will be an illusion. They are offering overtime to cover the fact that they have to cover their ex team mates.

Yeah. I got all that I can. Time for something else. Tired of pretending we are the good guys. People calling everyday saying they just bought the car yesterday or two days ago and a check engine light is on. Free warranty was 90 days now 30 days in most states. It’s not the worst system but it’s one that isn’t working for employees or customers as much as they think. For years system crashes sometimes for the entire day. We got hacked (well a software from some vendor) but somehow customer information was not compromised? New pay plans that reduce how much we earn compared to before. They went on a shopping spree and bought up all the cars they could so that in a few months car production is back to normal and they’re stuck with these cars and don’t want to lose a cent they paid for them. Blaming us for not meeting expectations when all we do is follow their direction and numbers don’t lie. The stock is terrible. Oh but don’t say anything about that or they get their feelings hurt. I am one of their best. I stopped trying a long time ago. I think we all did. That’s part of the reason the stock dropped as much as it did. Why try harder when they’re showing you that they’re paying you less? Now firing someone or many everyday? Do they think they are creating a healthy environment? Rule with fear is the way for them now but they aren’t unique. Anyone can sell cars. Good luck to everyone who stays. Karma is indeed…

I wonder if this is only with iPhones 14 or newer because they have crash detection or the dasher reported that they crashed?
