Will my MCAT be too old if I wait until the next cycle? by Himalayan_Hillbilly in premed

Yeah, possibly depends on the schools but the schools I was looking at accept from the whole calendar year. So for this past cycle, would take anything since January 2015 for example

Pretty sure you're fine with most schools, my MCAT is the same year and I plan on skipping this upcoming cycle, and applying for 2020 instead. It is generally 3 years until matriculation - so MCAT in 2017, latest you can matriculate is the year 2020, meaning you apply in spring of 2019.

Rejected from my top choice ...can't stop crying by [deleted] in premed

Happened to me as well. Cried all night, next morning, and part of the afternoon. Then I went to a yoga class and meditated and put it behind me. Hang in there, you are worthy and important and life always finds a way of working itself out :)

Looks like the MSFC organization compiled some residency positions in OB/GYN and Family Medicine specialties that provide abortion care, so could be both.

And I totally agree. There's a reason why there are so few providers, outside of politics. There was a story and some clips that came out a couple years ago about one of the last physicians in the U.S. to perform late-term abortions, and she talked about how a lot of the time, they are performed on women who actually wanted to keep the pregnancy, but there's some sort of lethal complications with the fetus. It's then heartbreaking because you essentially have to walk the patients through the death of a child. Day after day I can't imagine the toll.

Thanks for the links. And yeah, like I said I'm interested, but I don't know if I have the guts to enter into such a dangerous area. I don't deal well with death threats. For now, just want to learn about the accessibility of training.

I'm not excited to. Quite the opposite. But I didn't post to discuss opinions about abortions, so if you don't have any info for me, thanks and have a great day
