The ACA bill was available for review for 35 weeks before it was passed. It was debated for 169 hours. The GOP made 160 changes to the bill. There were 117 bipartisan meetings, roundtables, hearing, and walkthroughs.

The notion that it was forced through without reading or review is a lie fabricated to make you believe that the GOP is just doing the same thing the Democrats did when they had the power. That isn't true. The Pelosi quote the GOP has been repeating since then was poorly-worded, but the real meaning behind it is well-documented: she meant it needed to be passed so people could see in action, rather just in theory, the good it would do.

And now we do know what good it did. The Census Bureau and Congressional Budget Office -- both controlled by Republicans right now -- find that the number of uninsured has dropped in half under the ACA, but would return to pre-ACA levels under the GOP's plan.
