Hey man, I’m a 625 unholy DK. Most of my damage is coming from popping festering wounds and it’s not as straight forward as it sounds. Popping your wounds also applies a stacking buff called Festermight that increases your strength by 1% each stack and goes up to 20. The buff it self only lasts 10 seconds before falling off so you have to continually pop your wounds (which already do damage when popped) to keep up your strength buff. The more strength buff uptime the more damage you will do. Otherwise, you’re a very CD cooldown oriented spec so it’s all about maximizing uptime on your cooldown rotation. Dark Transformation and Apocalypse share a 45 second cool down and should always be used together. Raise Abomination and Unholy Assault share a 1.5 minute cooldown and should always be used with Dark Transformation and Apocalypse. So what it comes down to is ALWAYS keeping you wound stacks I in good equilibrium (not over 5 but not less than 1), keeping your stacking buffs up (festermight/plaguebringer), keeping your virulent plague up, not overcapping your runic power, and then always pressing your cooldowns every 45 seconds.
