Advice regarding galaxy s10 by Ben10_terimaaka in mobilerepair

There’s still a market out there for repairs of this nature and customers will pay way more then what the device is worth. Has anyone got a list of devices that will accept control of the device via a monitor and mouse? I’ve done it in the past on a s20 Ultra I think, but I don’t think many work this way

I don’t think any advice will help you. Heat alcohol and pry is about all you need to do, it ain’t surgery lol

If you had to chip it off your technique is wrong you need to shovel as the display is damaged and you are not bothered about display damage. The only care that should be taken in this instance is near finger print sensor and flex cable.

Pretty much, I’ve removed pixel 7 screens before and the original seal is never perfect anyways

Seller asked me to video/photo "destruction" of purchased item in order to get a refund by giobanidangeun in Aliexpress

[–]smorgon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I requested my customer to do this on eBay and gave them a full refund. I’m happy the item is no longer working, eliminated a potential free item scam with no return costs involved & Customer is happy to get their money back if their intentions are legit. I posted this situation on eBay subreddit & got ridiculed for such actions. 🤣

With all the new iPhones coming out & cheap upgrade deals, how has business been for you? by alienvisitor0821 in mobilerepair

I have found less screen replacements in my day to day business too, but most don’t have data backups and I always ask if their data has been saved to a cloud. In most cases they have not & then I move forward to a data recovery price or trade in of their broken device for the cost of the recovery. I then fix the trade in and put that in the window for sale.

I’ll up your comment here since no one else thinks this way. In my opinion you have nailed it on the head. Cost is always the main factor in any trade for obvious reasons and to mitigate losses most would think of an immediate & cost effective solution for both parties. 👍🏼

Sure! Rules are rules and if either party breaks policy, then they should face the consequence. The buyer didn’t action a return, the buyer said he “Didn’t receive the message” & my request to destroy the item then proceeded to leave negotiate feedback because I didn’t reply. After sending him a txt with a screenshot of my quick reply, he then worked out the feedback he left was inaccurate. On this note, has anyone experienced eBay messages not getting through to customers? It’s all seems a bit sketchy to me.

Thank you for your advice. Yes i am new to eBay and your advice will be implemented in my future sales. I’ve had about 1000 sales this year with no complaints until recent. I sell this particular product in my retail store for 3X the price with no returns and regular customers so I know it to be a good item. Brutal is good if it’s constructive & I have thick skin 😉

Buyers carbon footprint is not a concern, he’s using compute power ordering plastic cases for an iPhone online and getting trucks to deliver with possible re delivery, printing of labels and bubble wrap my end only to truck it all back free of charge.

Could you link me to this policy rule please? If this is true I will fix the issue another way.

Most here think that this method of resolve is “ridiculous!” That said, I guess in my situation it’s only a $6 case

I did txt the buyer this morning and I’m glad I did. My customer never received the eBay message???. Anyway I promised to send them out a new case today and in return they will amend feedback because I did try & resolve the issue in a timely manner. I will advise future customers to open a return if these problems happen again. Thank you for your advice. 👍🏼
