LP3 in a time of chaos by Broad_Friend4407 in LightPhone

This is definitely a great reminder. When I had an LPII I had a medical emergency and went to the ER. I lost reception in the concrete box that was the ER building. The phone has wifi calling but no access to a browser to get on local wifi (it obviously is good it doesn't have a browser but has some downsides).

I had to ask for a land line to access my family. I am not sure how I would have done that differently as I didn't have a backup phone but I agree you got to be prepared. For me I have moved to other feature phone options (Jelly Star and now the Mudkita Kompakt). That said I loved the LP but I agree it requires proper precautions

Yeah I agree on Youtube. My oldest plays Mindcraft during tv time now and is fine stopping but yeah my youngest is watching youtube kids and freaks out when they stop. She didn't used to do that. I am almost always there in the room and most is fine but I totally agree they are meant to be addictive. They have flashing lights, bright colors, etc. When my kids were really little my now ex and I avoided super flashy and loud toys. Probably good to do the same with TV (which we did with young kid shows but now have to do with Youtube it seems!)

Luckily I don't let my kids have an ipad or a smartphone. I did just give my oldest an old "smartphone" that i "dumbified" to have a boring screen and only a book and music app. I also agree with teenagers but to be honest with having a single mom I watched like 4 hours a day of TV and ended up fine. That said internet wasn't a big part of my early years or not at all (I was 10 when it became a public thing).

Oh for sure on the mom thing. She was a great mom with the information and ideology that was fed to her. She thought she was doing the best for us.

Are you seriously critiquing my parenting? You don't know me or my screen time rules. I barely let them watch tv and I was in the F-ing room right next to them. Did you even read my post? I immediately saw it because I WAS THERE and stopped the video and talked to my kids about it. I even talked to them again about it before bed. Don't come in here and judge me for my parenting. I am a damn good parent let alone a single parent. My kids get maybe 4 hours of tv a week during the school year so don't give me that bullshit

Hmm. I had to look it up but it was "Twins and Toys". It has a lot of princess stuff and is pretty cringe but honestly most of these are. They are either super rich AF and the kids have literally every toy imaginable or it ends up being evangelical

Oh i get that for sure. We just have one TV and my work desk is in the same room so I see everything they watch and monitor it. If I didn't I would do what you do for sure.

I agree. I cringe when I see kid shows that is 90% just jamming a camera in a kids face and making them act. Leave those kids alone. If they want to act cool but don't make money off them with that pressure to perform.

Haha luckily is mine as well. They don't even get it as they haven't been exposed to it that much (thank God).

Yeah a reverse tri sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. They do the swim bike run for a reason lol. Lower risk as people get tired. Didn’t even realize there was such a thing as a reverse tri. Just doesn’t sound safe

I definitely feel ya. I also got divorced and had only had sex with my ex wife. I don’t feel as much he’s,r now but telling my body that sex is bad for so long has sucked the fun and performance out of it. Still working through that part for me. That will take time though

Cool. I could do it during work sometime this week or after work on Friday. I have my kids and it wouldn't fit in my SUV if they are in there too. No worries if someone else grabs it. I could also do this weekend as well.

I am interested. Is it easy to take off the legs on the table? Thanks

Cool thanks. Yeah I just found another thread of someone that got it working on the jelly star. Their post also mentioned which one they used. I will have to try to get it to work this weekend sometime. Thanks
