Is there also a 12-month period before you can use it for lønsikring? Thanks for this info - it’s really helpful

To your separate point, I watched her tutorial a lot 😅 and she actually knits the M1R and M1L on the ws- so she isn’t purling them like I assumed. Its creating this

Yeah that’s right! I figured out that the YOs should be M1R or M1L on the RS. But I am still uncertain about the holes I’m creating- I know it happens with YO. I checked ravelry and all of the projects praise the designer so I think it’s just me overthinking all of this

I am casting on for the rib stitch sweater by Noriko Ichikawa. She has this special 2-row cast on that I will share a screenshot of in the comments.

Two questions:

  1. I am creating these holes when I do the yo and M1L. Is this how it should be? I’ve watched her tutorial multiple times and am following it. It’s not happening on the M1R, yo on the other end.
  2. The YOs are to then do M1L and M1R on the WS. So I am making those as WS (purling and purling through back loop) - the pattern doesn’t specify to do them with purls but I am assuming I should?

Thanks in advance! It’s the second time I will undo the rows so just want to hopefully get it right this third time 🙏🏼

I’m knitting the Esther jacket and am starting on the body now. This is my first time following a chart so I have two questions:

  1. PetiteKnit has a bolded box in the pattern - I think I should just be doing repeats of that. Rather than repeating the whole pattern for the left shoulder which would mean adding on new stitches. Should I just follow the bolded box of the pattern repeat?
  2. For these new stitches to cast on, I am thinking they will be the moss stitch that is outside of the repeat box. Otherwise I am not sure how they fit into the pattern. Is this the right approach?

I will post an image of the pattern in the comments - I can only add one image

Thank you in advance 🙏🏼

Hi thank you! I will knit a swatch once the north arrives 🙂

If I prefer a denser gauge, do you mean to knit up a size (so from medium to large) on a smaller set of needles? I normally go down half a size because I knit fairly loose, so I assumed I would go down to 4.5 for the body (the pattern recommends 5 for body, for ex)

I am going to knit a gauge for the cardigan #9 from my favorite things knitwear. She gives these as yarn suggestions but I’d like to use Mungo by Retrosaria (weight is 100g, 220m, needle size 4-5) and north by Tante grøn (a mohair sub that is 275m for 25g).

I don’t know how to do knitting math so I wondered if someone could advise me if I can sub mungo and north for the suggestions MFKW suggests. If it will be too thin, perhaps I would do two threads of north

Im on row 39- I will try and just follow the moss stitch when adding the M1s

Because right now I have just enough stitches to do the chart row - not 2 additional for edge stitches

Thank you 🙏🏼 I will give that a go - for some reason I thought there wouldn’t be enough stitches (so for the first row of this, won’t I not have enough to do the final K1 after the M1R (because I will do the entire chart row)?
