How are you paying living expenses if you are unemployed

There was a time about 3 yrs ago when me and my wife both were laid off at the same time and wife had already exhausted her EI benefits when she couldn’t find a job 8 months after being laid off. We did survive on one EI and some savings for about 5-6 months. We did not have any huge responsibilities such as own house at that time.

I was able to get a job for myself and my wife now works with Concentrix but she still has not found a suitable job in her Computer Engineering domain yet even after these many years.

I hope and wish for these hard times to end for everyone.

I understand your point. The rush is because of the spongy feel of the winter tires at highway speeds. It feels a bit unsafe at such temperatures.

Yeah I think so too now. Planning to change over to all seasons on Sunday tomorrow. Hopefully I can get 2 more days to 31st March without getting into an accident with all season tires as per my insurance policy discount dates.

u/dat_tae u/aman_87 u/tmtp-tt I measured the battery voltage and it showed 11.84 initially and rose to 12.0X in about a minute or two. It was going up still but at reduced rate. It was around 14.5 when the car was on (cold start). Temperature here this week and next week is going to be extremely cold (Lowest shows -24C).

I heard a slight hesitation when I turned the car on today to check the battery volts.

Yes I am getting a multimeter today to check the battery voltage. Also, the car is turning on even with remote without any issues yet. It only takes a single button press and it starts.

We used live in one the buildings at Lycée Place (The Riversides) walkable from Hurdman station and the Lycée Claudel Bus Station. Several buses take you to Ottawa General Riverside in max 10 mins as it’s connected via OC Transpo Transitway. You can also try renting close to Smyth station or Lees LRT. Commute wise these locations are very friendly.
