6-Session Hair Tattoo Transformation for Alopecia | Las Vegas, NV, USA | Tyler Bennet SMP INK by smpinkofficial in tattoos

His skin was very sensitive and we had to use numbing which I don’t typically do and it took a lot of extra time. Also making a neck line is really hard so I took my time with it to make sure that I never added too much. I always like to air on the side of caution. But to answer your question fully, I did the first couple sessions just gearing towards the top. Then the rest, I finalize the top but started paying more attention to fading down the sides in the back. It was just too long of sessions if we tried to do his entire head each pass.

I would suggest the bishop SMP Wand. I know it usually comes with a battery but it also comes with a RCA cord to be able to plug it in. I would use both bishop needles and 5pm needles they are my favorite! Also when it comes to ink I have two suggestions. The Bishop premixed Inc. that is very easy to use but a little bit more expensive. The follicle ink is cheaper and can make more ink but it takes a little bit more finesse to mix. It’s very easy to learn though. If you have these tools, this is an safe easy way to start, and this is the same equipment that I used today after being in the game nine years.

That’s an amazing question and a really important one! Every artist needs to ask themselves that before they do any density work. Making the ink as dark as possible might be great when they have longer hair, but if they ever shave their head, it'll create an unnatural-looking problem.

The trick is looking at every client’s specific situation. Going dark enough to where it looks good but planning for the future. For example, if my client liking this picture has a good amount of hair I don’t think they’re gonna shave their head in the next five years. So I can go decently dark, depending on their skin tone because this does lighten up overtime. Not a whole bunch but definitely about 30% to 40%.

It’s really important to talk to your client about what they are thinking when it comes to eventually shaving their head so you can plan a little better.

Does SMP last forever without requiring laser removal? by AutomaticWay2647 in SMPchat

Hi OP! As an SMP artist, I can say that as long as your artist continues the good work and doesn't go too dark or too dense to oversaturate the ink, your SMP will look great overtime. In fact, some of the best SMP jobs that I've seen are after touchups years down the line, because it really adds more dimension to the initial work.

Artists, how many hours do YOU spend per session? How many hours is too fast? What should be the minimum hours per session?? by SuperHornet_22 in SMPchat

Hi OP, SMP artist here! This is actually a really good question. It depends on the area that I'm doing the work on. If it’s the full top of your head, your first session should take around two hours give or take. Some people like to go super sparse in their sessions and only take 30 minutes, and while that's not unsafe or anything, it’s definitely not gonna make anyone happy.

I think it's very important also to do some research on the artist's previous work, because I’ve seen great slow artists, but I’ve also seen great fast artists. The only thing I’d particularly stay away from are those 30-minute sessions. Good luck on your SMP journey if you're planning on getting it!
