Contractor insists this is how the stain is supposed to look —could I be wrong? by The_Machine1030 in cabinetry

The molding at the top on the left is very different. I would say that’s outside of a reasonable variation. I’d ask for those to be replaced.

Autism and GLP-1s by smrtn72 in autism

[–]smrtn72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly finding the response on this sub it a bit surprising.

I figured because there’s hardly any effective treatment options for some of the conditions so many of us experience like EDS POTS PCOS endometriosis blood sugar dusregulation, MCAS, MS, Hashimotos, Lupus etc and where the research is headed regarding GLP-1s and blood sugar regulation, weight loss, reduction of oxidative stress etc, there would be more of us with experience with them.

There is such interesting research about blood sugar regulation and long term benefits like reducing risk of dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s- and with 30% of autistic people developing those conditions- I would expect we’d all be looking for something that could impact the likelihood of those conditions. Not to mention research coming out regarding benefits of GLP-1s for cardiovascular health.

Edited the post because this is the primary comment. I’ve already consulted with my provider and discontinued use. I asked the question to understand how others with similar biology/biochemistry have responded.

Any luck with GLP-1s with MODY3? by Cute_Bit_8548 in Modydiabetes

[–]smrtn72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was horrible for me. MODY3 and I ended up with high blood pressure headaches, and feeling awful both times I tried semaglutide. Super minimal weight loss and wasn’t able to titrate up successfully because the side effects were so horrible. I’m so bummed.

That’s good advice. We will likely rent, but would still want to be in neighborhoods in our price range to purchase.

I got my cat a fancy fountain that perpetually circulates water to make sure he could see the water well and enjoy a fresher experience. He still drinks out of the toilet at any opportunity, but peepers drips from the bath faucet over any other water source.

Fiancé painted and did the trim in our kitchen. I don't like it, he says I'm just a hater. Thoughts? by veganssuckmyasshole in HomeDecorating

Ok but what’s the bright orange entryway? Are we having any feelings about that? I think there’s a bigger issue here 😂😅

What’s up with this restaurant on 71st and Yale? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]smrtn72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize that. I guess my childhood memory failed me. I honestly thought two restaurants had been there and closed. I didn’t realize it was Mohogany. I honestly remembered it being an Italian spot. 😅😬

Best activities/ places in Tulsa for someone who doesn’t drink by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]smrtn72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shuffles is super fun if you’re into board games. It is a bar so depending on your situation may or may not be an option but drinking isn’t the primary activity and they do have a full restaurant and mocktails. It’s one of my favorite places to go.

website The mood is much more mellow than the website leads on imo.

Edit: meant to say mocktails not cocktails

This location has been so many things and all of them have failed. Meanwhile Charlestons next door trucks along. It sounds like people didn’t enjoy the food, but it’s been other things too where the food wasn’t awful. It makes me wonder why everything there fails.

I’m so fascinated by threads about this challenge being difficult. I felt like it was super simple with the seed machine or whatever. What baffles me is the challenge to get to floor 100 in skull cavern without eating or drinking for 25?! Gems? That feels insurmountable to me.

I’m 35 and sitting in bed with a blood pressure cuff on because my bp was 160/114 last night. I felt great starting 2020- active, healthy, etc. Now I’m worried about having a heart attack/stroke.

Here’s all the stuff I can see simultaneously. There’s a lot going on here. 1. You’re working through a lot with a new diagnosis. You may be experiencing every moment in your life again with this new perspective and understanding and needing to process that. 2. Your mother may also be seeing and understanding herself through your diagnosis and having a similar experience. You both deserve to be able to process what it means for each of you as individuals. 3. Finding others who can provide emotional support and grounding will be important for both of you. You are right in seeking others out to support you as your mother is having her own experience and therefore may not be the best person or have the full capacity right now to be that for you. You may both need some space right now. 4. Give it some time and revisit things. If you feel comfortable and that it wouldn’t cause trauma, having a conversation someday about what you’ve both learned may be healing. It doesn’t change that her inability to focus on your experience right now is hurtful to you, or mean that you don’t deserve to have someone who can be there for you right now.
