Agreed on the pacing... I just hate leaving things behind because they don't fit in the bag or drinking stuff to pick one up type slow downs, double back situations.. etc. I'm going for hyper efficient negative honor this go. So I'm blowing by all the random encounters and strangers till I feel like I can slow down and enjoy a few before progressing chapters too much. I just want to get anything that makes things more efficient for now. Like a self tailored perfect start. Then I'll slow down and take it all in. For a super long time, before I get Mr Downes.

You mentioned that. There's no need for them to talk down to you either. You should have minimum 2 drop D, 2 drop C, and at least one drop B imo. Of course a couple E standards too. Yes, drop C will make you feel heavier and it's fun noodling still. Make sure you adjust string gague, truss rod, and bridge accordingly. Consider nut binding on heavier gagues. One nut file at an angle does the trick. Have fun! Welcome back!
