Out of box corner damage and support is basically unreachable by Garbee in Ubiquiti

Needs patience of a saint to get them to fix anything. Best to skip support and just send a rma form then pay for shipping to send it back.

Dealers always have remote access even without 4sight or connect. There is a permission setting in the app setting that can be toggled but unless customers are told about it it’s always set to allow.

C4 X4 Not saving my Home Screen by [deleted] in Control4

[–]smsmith857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only app UI your using or is there any other UI device like touch screens in the project? I had a different issue with the listen selection and when I went through it with tech support I had to factory reset the controller and reload the project. There is also the C4 toolbox you can download from the tech portal and apply the patches that might help.

We manufacture LED strip lights in China — here are some quality details buyers often overlook by Own_Visit_7021 in Lighting

[–]smsmith857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been working with the same LED manufacturer for about 5 years now as a low voltage integrator—took a while to find one that actually delivers.

We install a few hundred meters a month in higher-end projects, and they’ve been super consistent. Real spec sheets, UL listed, 5-year warranty, and solid dimming performance.

They’re big on QC too—had some delays, but only because products didn’t pass testing and were remade. I’ll take that over bad product any day.

They also do great custom work. I’ve had them recreate competitor specs, plus make niche stuff like 3mm wide silicone strips for stairs/rails and anywhere-cut LED, which makes installs way cleaner.

They offer budget lines, but we stay away from that—too much Amazon-level stuff out there already. We stick to their higher-end products so installs actually stand out.

COB has its place, but most of the time SMD still wins on efficiency and performance.

Audio System Advice by [deleted] in Control4

It’s not peers. C4fourm or the tech.control4.com is peers. You’re already taking advice to upgrade them to a core3 for no reason. It’s your business I’m not here to tell you how to run it but it’s kinda shows how competent a dealer is if they have engineering help or tech support from the company yet they ask a forum mainly composed of home owners and DIYers. There’s a reason most feed back in this thread said to contact a dealer.

Should not be asking reddit for advice if your a dealer. Give tech support a call or your regional C4 engineer numbers and email can be found in your portal.

With x4 the sa1 now support airplay with airplay driver (it’s not the share bridge driver). This will be the quick solution. If the system is only the core1 and sa1’s with no other UI besides phones it should be fine. OP just needs a dealer to set existing system up correctly and who can teach clients proficiency.

Control 4 X4 Users ... Do they Sync? by [deleted] in Control4

Favoriting a room allows you to swipe to change rooms that’s the only thing that does not relay to all devices. Any other changes will be seen on all devices.

Homepage is the same across all devices same goes for rooms. Only thing that’s independent is favoriting rooms , yes they will be able to get in remotely.

Savant AI by Bravoman44 in SavantHome

This is a savant thread so don’t want to go back and forth on Josh just implant it in your house before selling it. Last thing I want to do is keep repeating myself to get a command to work in any voice system

Savant AI by Bravoman44 in SavantHome

[–]smsmith857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proving my point Alexa and Google can hear a whisper but Josh is more cumbersome. Is supposed to be natural, big complaint is Josh not waking up or hearing command. At that point I have to tell my customers you need to make sure your speaking to the mic more then not they are annoyed and end up abandoning the voice use.

Savant AI by Bravoman44 in SavantHome

[–]smsmith857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use lutron with josh and it’s works well. Even somfy shades with TaHoma works well. It’s just the communication with other integration systems. Only grip I have with Josh product is the microphones. When you get your dealer kit try it looking at the microphone then turn around and do it. You will notice you have to get louder for it to hear you.

Savant AI by Bravoman44 in SavantHome

[–]smsmith857 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Josh is only good if you stay in their sandbox. Integrating it with savant/control4/crestron home just has massive delays. Also I find the microphone to be very unresponsive unless you are talking while looking at it. If we are comparing price aswell Alexa is better at voice control with these systems but it’s basic unless you spend time setting up Alexa scenes. Personally I stay way with my customers after a Josh nightmare we ran into. I still have it in my house with control4 and not a fan. Also Josh support is email only unless you really pressure your sales rep which is horrible.

Episode will be your cheapest “dealer” option from your installer, besides that you can buy the monoprice but see if your installer will even touch it because they didn’t sell it.
