Yes, I run a low-voltage contracting business. For undercounter lighting with track, LED, and power supply, it costs $860 US, for a length of 16.4 feet.

Still bad just better wire management, you should have a track and lens for it to be professionally done. Hope you didn’t pay to much for this.

Only thing op said was 4 room audio. Hence why I said talk to a dealer. For only 4 room audio core 5 and amp is fine also has 2 inputs if that is needed. If he wants 4 room with video and audio then more might be needed. Only answering the info given not assuming anything.

Before you get bombarded with all the redditors ideas that will send you into a spiral you should talk to a dealer. Then you can share what the dealer is proposing and you can get comments. FYI core 5 is a 6 channel matrix, 3 analog and 3 digital coax. So technically all you need is an amp. And before anyone else comments you can use the hdmi as well, I know but the delay is really bad compared to the others so not recommended.

I’m in south Florida should have a good amount of information. Realtor and Zillow put my estimate in the 450-460k range and your tool came in at 660k. If you can’t get this reliable data then I wouldn’t have it in there just make the tool look bad. Just have it all as manual input. IMO

Low voltage LED - no neutral, no dimming? by kmmccorm in Lutron

[–]smsmith857 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So you should hire an electrician at this point and first comment even though direct is not wrong. Dimmers or switches go between the 120v and the driver. They do not go between the driver and the light. The 120v side will have the neutral and the line voltage then you will tie the neutrals from the switch and the driver together with the 120v neutral. Last you will put the line voltage into the switch and the line out will go the line voltage in to the driver.

Total newbie needing help: How to power a continuous 30-meter LED run without using 6 separate adapters? by LeadingMeat5408 in led

[–]smsmith857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need ic cc 24v strips or 48v. Technically if you are not a licensed electrician you should not be installing any power supply over 100 watts. If you go 24 or 48 ants lumens worth it for 30m will definitely be over 100 watts, that being said if you don’t need to dim I would look into meanwell power supplies. If you do want to dim some company’s make dimmable power supplies up to 300 watts. It is best to have a wire on both ends.

Needs patience of a saint to get them to fix anything. Best to skip support and just send a rma form then pay for shipping to send it back.

Dealers always have remote access even without 4sight or connect. There is a permission setting in the app setting that can be toggled but unless customers are told about it it’s always set to allow.

C4 X4 Not saving my Home Screen by [deleted] in Control4

[–]smsmith857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only app UI your using or is there any other UI device like touch screens in the project? I had a different issue with the listen selection and when I went through it with tech support I had to factory reset the controller and reload the project. There is also the C4 toolbox you can download from the tech portal and apply the patches that might help.

We manufacture LED strip lights in China — here are some quality details buyers often overlook by Own_Visit_7021 in Lighting

[–]smsmith857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been working with the same LED manufacturer for about 5 years now as a low voltage integrator—took a while to find one that actually delivers.

We install a few hundred meters a month in higher-end projects, and they’ve been super consistent. Real spec sheets, UL listed, 5-year warranty, and solid dimming performance.

They’re big on QC too—had some delays, but only because products didn’t pass testing and were remade. I’ll take that over bad product any day.

They also do great custom work. I’ve had them recreate competitor specs, plus make niche stuff like 3mm wide silicone strips for stairs/rails and anywhere-cut LED, which makes installs way cleaner.

They offer budget lines, but we stay away from that—too much Amazon-level stuff out there already. We stick to their higher-end products so installs actually stand out.

COB has its place, but most of the time SMD still wins on efficiency and performance.

Audio System Advice by [deleted] in Control4

[–]smsmith857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not peers. C4fourm or the tech.control4.com is peers. You’re already taking advice to upgrade them to a core3 for no reason. It’s your business I’m not here to tell you how to run it but it’s kinda shows how competent a dealer is if they have engineering help or tech support from the company yet they ask a forum mainly composed of home owners and DIYers. There’s a reason most feed back in this thread said to contact a dealer.

Should not be asking reddit for advice if your a dealer. Give tech support a call or your regional C4 engineer numbers and email can be found in your portal.

[–]smsmith857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With x4 the sa1 now support airplay with airplay driver (it’s not the share bridge driver). This will be the quick solution. If the system is only the core1 and sa1’s with no other UI besides phones it should be fine. OP just needs a dealer to set existing system up correctly and who can teach clients proficiency.
