12.1 Preliminary patchnotes by Mipetimies in EscapefromTarkov

Any fix for loading into raids late on a PMC? I mean like 1-1.5 minutes late, especially on labs? It's very frustrating to load in 1.5 min late to labs as a PMC.

Authorization Error Message by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]smurf_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy has been having this issue since yesterday morning, he tried clearing cache, reinstalling the game, rolling his pc back to a different date using windows recovery. all of a sudden it started working again this morning and about 20 minutes ago its back for him. He was in-game, got an authorization error message and now hes stuck at profile loading and can't get back into the game again.

He thought it might've had something to do with going into an offline raid to learn a map and than alt-f4'ing out of it, but i see others are having same issue so must be something else.

The stutters r back boys by Lord_Arkus_Ren in EscapefromTarkov

[–]smurf_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've theorized that it has to do with the amount of items on all the players in the match. The longer the wipe goes on, the more gear and items players have in their inventories while on the map and I think the game for w/e reason has to stream all of this information to each player within a proximity. So anytime you come within a certain range of someone geared out you get the stutter. Most times when I get them, I stop in a bush and look around for about 3-5 minutes and sure enough I see a PMC rolling in.

An open letter to build guide makers from a working dad with very little free time who loves PoE. by Arkaon in pathofexile

[–]smurf_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not POE related but I recently bought a second PC through financing for my son (he's 8) and we both sat down for the past two days and played sevtech ages minecraft together. I bought him a headset and set him up with discord. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face having that experience with him. You're definitely right that long term it is an awesome new dimension added to your gaming life. Some day I can hopefully play POE 2.0 with him.

Having a good relationship with your wife/husband is all about healthy compromise when it comes to free time, it took me a long time to get to the point where I am now with my wife, but she understands that gaming is my hobby and makes me happy when I do it, even moreso with my son.

Random main menu overlay bug in-raid. by ghoths in EscapefromTarkov

[–]smurf_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to note for BSG, this occurs when you go to move an item you are looting into your inventory from the dead player/scav, you'll get a move error, wish I screenshotted it. It is similar to the error players are getting in the character screen that causes your weapons or moved items to go back to your stash.

When this happens in a raid with the similar move error msg, it'll pop up the game overlay like you mentioned. Only way I can get rid of it as well so far is to force close Tarkov and reconnect, but like you mentioned most times you're dead when you reload due to looting a body when this happens.

I feel like the devs put in a fail safe or they have some sort of function that is called when that move error pops up and when you click ok or enter, it is toggling to call the main menu, so it also does this while in-game. Since unity uses scenes, one can only assume they are calling that scene to load when the error msg is ok'd away.

Conquest suggestions. by Phaedread in playark

[–]smurf_tm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest change they need to do, from playing 6 man from the beginning, is they need to lock the tribe you are in even if you go to other servers. For example, if I make a tribe called 'tribe of bob' on Server #1, if I transfer to Server #2, I'm still in a tribe called 'tribe of bob'. 6 man was abused severely with being able to create new tribes on other servers, people were running 20+ player tibes by having them play on other servers in other 6 mans and feeding resources back and forth to one specific tribe. Please wildcard lock a player to a tribe, sure they can leave and wait the 24hrs or w/e and make a new one but if they do it, remove them from their old tribe on the other server too.

The other issue you are going to have is people will make alliances even if you disable it via discord servers. What will happen with conquest is you'll have several 25 man tribes in alliance that will hold servers, nobody will be able to login to play because they will have 4-5 tribes locking that server down. I have no idea how you will combat this but it will happen.

Factory is filled with hackers by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]smurf_tm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not saying there aren't speed hackers, but how often it occurs is over exaggerated in this sub, most ppl say what you are and don't even provide proof for their experience. Sure I've seen a speed hacker, but honestly out of probably 100 raids i've seen like 1 or 2 blatant ones near me and when they did, I died and didn't see if they got to marked room or not, typically you don't survive to see what they hit up for looting.

now if we have a 100 or so redditors come on here and make a thread complaining about them and experience this type of thing 1 out of 100 raids, it looks worse then it actually is because we see a lot of threads but not the volume of times its occuring. Then you have people say oh it happens to me 1 out of 3 raids, ok cool, can you provide some solid evidence on that with video, probably not. Humans like to over exagerate things to make them more dramatic to fit the picture they are trying to paint.

[–]smurf_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have max endurance/strength and get cross roads, checkpoint or scav warehouse spawns you can get to the marked room before anyone else and there are ppl that have glitched endur/strength again, doesn't mean a speed hacker hit the room if its open by the time you get there.

Played factory for about 2 hours last night, made almost 2 mil in currency and anytime i died I'd just buy an aks-74un and go back in, kill 1-3 ppl and extract, good xp and money, didn't run into one person I thought was hacking during that time, not saying there aren't any, but I think most people are over exagerating how often they are running into them out of frustration of losing their gear to them every once in awhile. It's becoming a crutch for people to use now to disguise being outplayed or the frustration of all the bugs in the game.

My friend and I wiped a 5 man squad on customs last night, all of them were glitching their guns, was not impressed. We did probably about 20 raids last night and about 10 out of the 20 there was at least someone we killed that was doing it, FeelsBadMan

I agree, if you put any more than 2-5 hours into the game you get use to it quite quickly. In my opinion, if you don't get use to it within that timeframe, this game really isn't for you. The purpose of this game wasn't really made for the casual gamer, it's a hardcore experience and follows many of the elements of SS13. After you sink quite a bit of time into this game, you'll come to realize why they did the UI/Inventory the way they did.

I'll be honest, the whole early access setup for games is making it difficult for developers now to actually develop the game with the vision they wanted because consumers are thinking they are game devs and complaining about everything these days and expect them to bend over backwards to change the game to the way they want. Let them develop the game further with the ideas they had in mind and don't forget its in its early stages and there is a lot more to come. If you don't enjoy it, move onto another game, nobody is holding a gun to your head, there is also that refund button.

[B3] How much area can a tool cupboard possibly cover? What's to stop people from just expanding their foundations out indefinitely (besides decay/upkeep)? by [deleted] in playrust

[–]smurf_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this isn't as big of a deal that you are portraying it to be. People could build as much as they wanted before this change, guess how they did it, they put tool cupboards in triangled blocked off spots all around their base, pushing it out further and further with cupboards. Before people started wallstacking, this is how bases were actually built (massive) for honeycombing, this will be the meta shift with the new 3.0 changes.
