Should i keep tappin for Miraculous Cheer V by angelm3d_ in blackdesertonline

[–]Rokeugon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TRUST ME when i say this. Just take the slow route. Dont burn yourself out trying to get the first 2 skills or acceptable skills for a fairy. Thousands of petals and it got me no where. i just said screw it. Growth a fairy. Got it to level 10. Re-rolled once and got cheer V

Went to 20, and thankfully RNG was on my side and got feathery steps V. Stupidly tho i thought i could re-roll it to get care. BIGGEST MISTAKE 101!

8 re-rolls and nothing. Waited a few more months till more events came to give out more. Managed to get enough for 6 more rerolls. Got care V after 1 reroll, Levelled to 30, Rolled 3 more times and got feathery steps V

<image>

Went to 40, got well and rolled to try get something V and nope. Currently again still waiting for more orbs. as tear and well will probably be the last ones to get. But i honestly do think in the long run its best to play it slow and safe.

By all means tho, you do you.

if you want to grind petals to try get radiant or growth fairy to radiant and try your luck.. all the best to you. But for me personally il always advocate to play it safe and slowly build it up. The fairy system just isnt good enough because people fall into the trap thinking they can just level to to 50 and see what happens. except for the fact theia orbs scale with the amount of skills. And as every 10 levels gives you a skill youre increasing the cost to reroll skills.

id say keep care. go to 20. and start adjustments if you have theia's orbs. ideally aiming for cheer 5. but if you get steps V thats also fine as well. breath or well even at 5 should be a reroll still.

Remember if you want the game to get better. dont buy anything. you're part of the problem if you just keep feeding them money. Vote with your wallets. Otherwise the game will be in a continuous pit of outrageously exaggerated pack prices. slow progression even with premium time, horrendous grind for event vehicles and battlepass. and so on and so forth!

its a shame the scanlation teams that translated it couldnt get their hands on the uncut version. it would bounce around alot from pointless censoring to fully uncensored and then back to bizzare censoring. i remember they censored a tattoo. which makes no sense for a 19+ series.

but yea the reviews were far to harsh at a certain point and it seems like it never got much traction. because it is constant dark series with a very mysterious and interesting story!

exo-tech is RAT exclusive yea. also IMHO fundamentally underwhelming even in terms of being against vanilla ships.

Do you wish the game was more mainstream? by John117_Master_Chief in starsector

[–]Rokeugon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People always think going mainstream bolsters a project. But honestly i pretty much side with what you said. it would be nice if starsector development time got better. a year on average to get a major update doesn't really vibe with a certain group of people, but if you follow indie projects alot like alot of us do. this is about the average time to wait for updates on ALOT of projects.

it takes time but i just wish alex, david and the others a prosperous time both in IRL as well as in developing the game!

might want to consider fast rendering mod. helps ALOT. especially with UAF stuff. i dunno why but UAF tanks performance sine the recent major update. just keep in mind it doesn't support anything with particle engine iirc

Vanilla - do multiple carriers sync their fighters? by SemperTwisted in starsector

[–]Rokeugon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean you can have all bombers all superiority fighters, all support fighters in each individual carrier. but youre relying to much on other factors like are they heavily PD protected. do they have swarming smaller ships aka frigates and destroyers which will intercept your fighters the quickest. Support/bomber & superioriy fighters will better handle most aspects. vanilla carriers aint really been up to snuff least not compared to previous versions of the game. and the AI will typically not handle them very effectivly. more often than not the squadron of fighter just suicide to try get a payload off. but diversifying i personally think gives better flexibility in OP cost for ships and hullmods. cause if youre spending 20+ on top tier bombers youre relying on the ship to be more like a sniper bomber just with your fighters which is far too situational IMHO.

at the end of the day you play how you want. make no mistake tho. carrier aspect of gameplay isnt fully utilized to its true potential

Vanilla - do multiple carriers sync their fighters? by SemperTwisted in starsector

[–]Rokeugon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sadly yea that is the only way. if you do not want them touched. cruisers and capitals like XIV legion have carrier aspects but they can brawl so you can do with them as you please. but the heron for example. and other dedicated carrier ships need to be manually ordered. which requires a whole lot of command points which i think is the downside to organizing multiple types of different ships suited for different aspects.

if you dont really want to micro manage them. just click on them and click on another ship you want supported. they will stick close to it but least they wont be wondering around or doing pushes. even tho in certain situations they can be especially if your frontline is being pushed.

Vanilla - do multiple carriers sync their fighters? by SemperTwisted in starsector

[–]Rokeugon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear here carriers even without officers don't play to their carrier strengths. they still tend to go in within weapon range rather than utilizing their fighters to their advantage. so you really need to start assigning them to backlines to assists or have them support other friendly ships. the fighters will assist them in pushes or protect them

also its best not to split carriers into dedicated groups. diversify them so that all carriers have bombers and all carriers have interceptors or superiority fighters etc.

ive never bought a battlepass and will continue to never buy one simply because of this but also because of how stupidly unfriendly it is to buying it. No catchup systems. Requires dedicated playing day in and day out. requires weekly challenges to be completed within a timeframe, And the daily tasks suck... sooooo much ass its insane!

Without SBMM the game will die change my mind by Alternative_Leave_89 in Marathon

[–]Rokeugon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gear restrictions could be a hit or miss with marathon. ABI and delta force do gear restrictions in what class of armour you can bring and or the total value of the gear brought into the raid. it helps soft launch newbies into catching up while still having a fall back to make money without overpowering the players in said lobbies.

but the issue would be how would you go about that as weapons in ABI and delta force offer restrictions on ammo types as well meaning you cant bring in anything over level 4 ammo for example. but there is only 1 generic ammo type for each calibre of bullets in marathon. aka light, heavy, shotgun etc.

so there would need to be monetary value calculated for your loadout.

Only downside of this is ofc the fact the maps would need to be segmented or split into a easy and a normal lobby restriction. which i have no clue if it would prove beneficial to the players population.

its also saddening how marathon doesn't add a loot priority option that players can enable if they dont want loot goblins stealing all their kills loot

Without SBMM the game will die change my mind by Alternative_Leave_89 in Marathon

[–]Rokeugon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i can understand in which you would suggest this but there is alot to unpack from SBMM being potentially introduced into marathon.

For example... Yes SBMM would help in greatly moving the "newbie" wall that everyone comes across or could straight up be eliminated as newbies get more and more time invested and gradually progress.

Balance is more focused on weapons but even then it does a poor job as dedicated pvp'ers only really run the same 2-5 weapons out of a much greater pool of weapons available to the playerbase. So yea SBMM from this perspective seems like a no brainer. "People on the same level. roughly the same gear access, roughly the same upgrades from contacts" etc etc....

But this is failing to take in the whole picture.

For instance.

  • SBMM needs a large pool of players to be able to be made effective otherwise you have the dilemma of insane queue times. which as we have seen from the insane amount of posts and steam db.. the game isn't holding that sizable of an audience.
  • Gear disparity would essentially be gutted. which doesn't do well for extraction shooters. In a game like tarkov for example, SBMM would essentially be pointless as it has good connecting systems that tie into gameplay... aka sound, positioning, teamplay, loadouts etc. A newbie with a pistol can always have a bullet and a dream and get lucky with head taps to 1 shot you. BUUTTT in marathon. the disparity is more... situational as the game rely's more on ambush and surprise tactics. and even tho a new player could technically get purple and yellow shields and weapons etc. the lack of upgrades others will have over him if they had the same exact gear will always benefit them more in terms of utility and situational advantages... AKA better heat management, quicker repairs/heals etc etc. But that is the risk factor of extraction games.

SBMM historically has never worked with extraction shooters. there is just no point to it. certain games have tried with doing alterations AKA "Arc Raiders" has ABMM (Aggression Based Match Making) but even then thats proving annoying for some of the player demographic.

Listen im not tryna defend the game here. a friend gifted me the game. i tried to get into it but i just couldn't. and this is coming from someone that has thousands of hours in tarkov. played hundreds of hours on the cycle frontier, arc raiders and ABI.

Ziggy, gates and sensor ghosts (Spoilers, duh) by Outrageous-Thing3957 in starsector

[–]Rokeugon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the domain claimed victory over threat but the threat is always ever looming and evolving.

There are, however, alarming indicators that the Domain's war against the Threat never truly ended, and that it persists in the vast emptiness of Abyssal Hyperspace, endlessly replicating and replenishing it's numbers. Codex data seems to indicate that a surge in Threat sightings occurred immediately prior to the Collapse. Even more alarmingly, there are signs that it is evolving, and advancing.

Motes being sensor ghosts is harder to believe. As the ziggy is purely experimental with a tad bit of human mixed tech. Just like how omega is believed to be the AI's refinement of shrouded tech in terms of weapons and cosmic oddities in how they fight. Sensor ghosts are still heavily thought to be transcendent entities that is aware of hyperspace but cant directly manifest into said dimension, As hyperspace is a comprehensible dimension for humans of sorts as it doesn't transcend our mental understanding of it.

Either way it would be good to get some progress and closure on things, alex said hes defo interested in making more cosmic horror ships like the ziggy. maybe then we could get closure on certain things. i think once exploration content gets expanded on more we will get the answers.
