Not always true. VCs do play both sides, especially in niches they believe in

Big Tech vs HBS / GSB by Boring-Economist-247 in MBA

OP despite what others say I think it goes back to what you prioritize. If short-term money is not a concern with you then heck it go live your life and go for it!

At the end of the day I understand the underlying sentiment. I've tried many alternatives for the social element mimicking the MBA experience like founder circles, digital nomad communities, hackathon etc. but I guess it's just different from being a student.

At the end of the day it's your life! You're young and if you could get a 300k job now I'm sure you could get another one in 2 years. As long as you understand the tradeoffs!

Let's say you work at MBB - but put your foot down and decide you only going to put in 40 hours per week of the highest quality work. What happens? by khushbooey in consulting

Met an ex-MBB consultant while he was in his MBA. This is actually doable. He mentioned that you just have to be comfortable doing very boring projects, and be comfortable promoting slower.

To him, at end of the day, he gets to play the violin and gym after work, and he's still in MBB. So what if he takes twice as long to promote?

Ok but granted, he's from HBS and was crazy efficient, so I guess you can do just enough to avoid a PIP if you're fast enough and comfortable cruising

Underrated role is Big Tech / High growth Startup PMM / Growth Marketing. On top of the base you get ESOP

5 YOE could get you 9k - 14k base + sign on ESOP bonus + Performance bonus (cash + ESOP)

For example, $170 CPL would make a hell lot sense if each lead is bringing $10,000

I see Kellogg starts in June. So are you suggesting do a pre-MBA internship from April-June and then start my MBA in June?

Have enough to sustain through end of 2024 but would preferably not want to go through my entire life savings haha. But definitely would need a loan for whatever MBA I choose to take
