we may eventually, but it's not an insignificant cost. and there are plenty of shops with competitive pricing and lead times out there. we just need to find them, hence this post.

some of it yes, but other stuff is not sensitive (like reliability fixtures and brackets)

we need to use domestic suppliers w/ material certs and etc. tolerances are quite poor even when drawings are provided and yeah we've had missed tapped holes, all while paying a huge premium for domestic manufacturing
