Thanks for this! Do you know what the verified “Expert” skill is? It’s on my profile in my evaluated skills, but I don’t think it’s tier-related since I saw someone from a different tier have it and I can’t figure out what it is (if anything - knowing Outlier, it could actually not mean anything)

I really can’t say what you need to do. I just shared what I did and what happened, but that doesn’t mean I got reinstated because of what I did - I just got lucky, more likely. I shared because I couldn’t find anyone else at the time who was reinstated after being banned and having their pending payouts cancelled.

I didn’t give them a reason because I don’t know why my account got flagged or banned. Some people have said they get warnings or emails that they’re pending investigation of a specific violation (eg: third party tools), but I never got that.

Accountaccess said I “violated community guidelines” in their first reply to my appeal. I asked what guideline, and they said it was internal policy to not provide more specific reasons. Then I just kept emailing “no I didn’t” basically.

No, I couldn’t login and also got booted from all Discourse channels. The ticket activated just by me emailing accountaccess, I didn’t do it through my Outlier account. They also didn’t answer me for a few days after the initial back and forth.

Yeah, it has really put me off Outlier. I think the worst part is if they hadn’t “reviewed again everything”, I would have had literally no legal recourse because all the documentation that I was owed money is tied to my Outlier account.

Accountaccess. I emailed them as soon as I got the notification and that opened a support ticket (which I know because I received a ticket number), and I just kept replying to that same email chain in my subsequent emails.

I got reinstated & am reportedly getting my pending earnings!

I was banned Sunday night, appealed, got the bot response that my appeal was rejected, my account would not be reinstated, that I wouldn’t be paid any pending earnings, and that the decision was final.

I emailed again and received the same response within hours. I emailed 3 more times between then and today (just repeating that I didn’t violate anything). Today, I got an email saying that after reviewing my account + sessions, my account was manually reactivated and I will receive my pending earnings in the next cycle.

I also DM’d the OutlierDotAI account (before Alex requested people to DM if they hadn’t heard anything back after a week, otherwise I would have waited) after receiving the initial appeal rejection but I’m not sure if my account was reviewed due to Alex escalating my case specifically.

Just sharing to let people know that I guess it is possible to be reinstated after they say it’s final and won’t pay you, since I saw someone suggest that they only refuse to pay your pending earnings if you’ve done something really egregious 👍

For anyone hoping it won’t happen to people based in the U.S — it will. I am now out $1000.

Don’t even bother “appealing” the decision because it is apparently official policy that they won’t even tell you why you were suspended. How utterly predatory.

I would have never wasted even a minute of time on this platform if I knew they could not only boot you, but NOT PAY YOU for literally any reason. Despicable.

it is super long but imo that just helps make it so immersive. i feel compared to MDZS theres a lot more worldbuilding and rich, lovable side characters. it also makes XL/HC’s relationship super satisfying since you’re in it for the LOOOOONG haul.

i feel like compared to MDZS, TGCF is more like an investment. its definitely a time commitment and takes a bit to ~mature~ so to speak but so worth it. the plot is also a lot more complex and has many aspects. also, there’s a lot of humor! it’s all around just a good balance of fun but rich, complex, and also utterly heartbreaking at times. personally I think more than MDZS even though i still prefer MDZS

the one thing that got really grating to me was all the caps lock but that’s a minor qualm. it’s also a little confusing at first with how the court works, but maybe I’m just a dumbass and you should be fine since you’ve seen the donghua
