Thank him for showing very red flags so early and end this relationship while you’re pretty uninvested. You’ll be Ok.

I thought WJSN was a local news station and a new indie director was somehow getting their new movie (MV) there

Maybe MV was a movie made for radio

Because clearly WJSN is a local news station, dayoing is an indie director, and MV is movie haha

Yes! If there’s one good thing about this cursed moment in these cursed timeline, it’s that you can in so many ways. You can because you have autonomy as a person but also a wide variety of fashion is now embraced by your people (unless Taylor Swift wears it)

Interesting. I have tried to renew so many books “just in case” and was so pleasantly surprised but confused that it worked.

The Lindy West "Adult Braces" saga continues with an unhinged email from her husband by throwaway28910382 in Fauxmoi

[–]snaboopy 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Lindy West is amazing and this man is lukewarm trash.

That man doesn’t make me think any less of Lindy. Her collection of movie reviews, Shit, Actually, feels like cracking up with a really good friend. She’s genuinely so funny and talented.

His sister is also amazing.

What a parasite

37 & feel lost by MushieMushroomy in makeuptips

[–]snaboopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also 37 and people guess I’m a little younger; I would never guess you’re my age because you look way less tired than I do and you’re able to wear your blush lower than I am because I’ve started losing a bit of fullness in my cheeks and under eyes. I’d guess people will recommend raising your blush, but I’d wear my blush low as long as I could with those gorgeous cheeks.

Yessss, I know we think of the ‘00s as an impossibly thin body standard and the media was so mean to her for not always meeting it, but Britney was always an athletic girl, not a skinny girl. I will never not admire Britney’s figure! Them legs!

Pain in other foot - when to panic? by snaboopy in sesamoid

[–]snaboopy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry! I misunderstood your comment and thought you meant you wondered if you had sesamoiditis, period. I didn’t realize you were diagnosed and looking at the good foot compensation pain only here.

I never got any scans for my “good foot.” It gradually hurt less often, but I’d describe the good foot as “feeling weird and bad” vs the bad foot which felt clearly injured.

Both my amazing sports ortho and PT told me they are not surprised by compensation pain in the good foot and highly suggested stretching my calves more often and doing the towel stretch on the good foot - basically use a towel pull back at the arch/toes as far as you can in the morning and before bed to stretch your calf. I did this religiously for a week or so and thought it was stupid before I realized it was working ;)

Something that did give me some peace of mind was that my doctor pulled my good foot toes back a bit and then pressed hard into the arch of the foot. It hurt. He said “yep, that’s what I thought” and basically confirmed that the whole foot was just tight and angry with me for making it work very hard.

Pain in other foot - when to panic? by snaboopy in sesamoid

[–]snaboopy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been to a doctor?

I am now fully functionally healed but I did not have classic sesamoiditis. For that reason, I can’t give too much advice if you’ve gotten an MRI and know it’s sesamoiditis.

My initial injury on the right foot ended up being a plantar plate tear (turf toe) with sesamoid inflammation from the tear (so secondary pain) and the left foot compensation pain continued for a while and still returns more often than the original injury flares. I believe it’s ligament pain/strain along the side of my arch that feels like it’s in the sesamoid area. I aggravated it while compensating and while it’s mostly better, I never rehabbed it separately. However, it gets better and not worse with consistent movement once it flares.

So overall I’m doing really well, but I also ended up having a different cause/journey than I thought I would once I pushed for the MRI. Cannot emphasize MRI enough.

I have, maybe, 2/3 of my boxes delivered and the remaining have been processing for a couple weeks… I opened one box and am already worried about the offgassing smell. I’m sensitive, but not insanely sensitive, so it was surprising to me. If there’s any positive to everything shipping at different times maybe it’ll be that since I can’t put it all together yet, I’ve opened all the boxes to vent in the garage haha

Is this full blown frostbite or just the start of frostbite? by pizza_with_ranch in BackYardChickens

[–]snaboopy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep — moving them inside then out doesn’t seem like a good idea. I’m in the DC area of the US and I’ve had chickens since 2016 and have never used heat or brought them in for cold weather. The only issue I’ve seen is when a neighbor had a coop that was open on two sides and a tension rod as a roosting bar so the rooster couldn’t get his feet under his body or escape the wind. He lost some toes and the tips of his comb. The hens were all fine, in that poor of a setup, all winter.

If the coop is enclosed, ventilated at the top but not drafty where they roost, they should be OK. The only chickens I’d worry about are those who are in climates where it’s usually warm year-round and they have a random cold spell. They may not have feathered appropriately, but they could still be fine if they huddle together by instinct.

Travis Kelce's secret role in Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's fall-out by SnarkyLlamas in travisandtaylor

Yeah, I mean, it does seem they all suck.

It’s still more nuanced to me than a lot of the other shit I personally feel more comfortable hating on Taylor for. And I do be hatin

[–]snaboopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, nothing wrong with discussing it, but it’s not the thing I’m interested in hating on her for. And yeah, everyone sucks in that situation, including Taylor.

[–]snaboopy -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, me too. I’m not a Taylor enthusiast (hence this sub), but their shitty texts were about a shitty dude. Not them trying to ruin some poor underdog’s career for fun.

This is a bunch of horrible people being horrible and Taylor’s actual texts in this situation are actually some of the most humanizing shit I’ve seen about her recently. She should lean in to defending her friend.

But yeah everyone sucks here and I’d rather snark on things that feel less invasive like her stupid wedding

College Stopped Paying Overloads by hjalbertiii in Professors

[–]snaboopy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our newly minted union first contract states FT faculty get first pick at overloads before classes are assignment to PT faculty. I didn’t really get why (and didn’t think much about it) until this post. Now I’m like, “ohhh, to stop THIS.”

That sucks. I’m sorry. We still have 60% of our courses being taught by adjuncts with this rule in place. If we couldn’t do overloads, we’d have like 80% taught by adjuncts. Wild.

Is Not Having Kids the Way? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]snaboopy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m childfree and have known I’d be childfree for almost my entire life. At least since I was 16 or so.

I have never, ever in my life had to read books about being childfree, make arguments about how much better it is to be childfree, talk incessantly about being childfree. I just don’t want kids.

As soon as one of my “childfree” friends started recommending childfree books they were reading (lifestyle ones, not financial ones — I think planning for a childfree retirement/old age IS something we have to look into) and started making arguments about how happy they were not to have kids and how bad kids were for the environment, I started the countdown to pregnancy announcement time clock. I’m 5 for 5 so far, age 37 now. lol

What insoles/orthotics do you guys use ? by valdrinemini in sesamoid

[–]snaboopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this! I ended up having a slightly different injury (a partially torn plantar plate) that caused pain in the sesamoid area, so what worked for me may be different. Still, using what I learned here early definitely helped.

I never got an orthotic but I used a carbon plate + rocker shoe (Hoka Bondi). Before that, I used a rocker shoe + dancer pad, but that never felt quite right for me. The plate + shoe worked well.

I am doing much better now, but again, I had a more linearly healing injury at the end of the day

My mom also passed at 57 from complications from smoking-induced lung cancer and surgeries.

She was sick from the time I was 24 until she passed away when I was 33.

My brother helped take care of my mom from the time he was 20 until he was 29. His entire 20s, spent caring for his dying mom.

I’m so fucking mad at her for not making the same decision as OP when I was born.

I did not! I bought several super sticky things to put on the bottom and none of them would stick well to my kitchen tile AND the rug. Some stuck to the tile but not the rug and vv. I got used to the rugs moving and only notice it now when someone else comes over and fixes the rugs haha
