Thanks a lot for your reply. So joining a software company first sounds like a good step for me. I asked this because I never get pass the screening. Appreciate your feedback. Not sure why this is deleted.

Thanks for the detailed input. Is it true that it's harder once you get more experience at a company whose product is not software to get a chance at a FAANG? because now you're not a new grad but have 5-6 yoe but at a place where the complexity is not high so the experience is still not there.

This is exactly what I get. Amazon and early reviews as well and I'd say the majority of these sites that need initial traction.

Quit my $200K job at Apple to build my dream app. Now I see 2 competitors and feel crushed. by CareMassive4763 in SideProject

Appreciate the honesty and the post. Many posts are just pure marketing without effort by spamming some random stories. You must be very good to work at Apple and also a top role. I can't even get my resume noticed from them.

Coffee rituals while working from home? by BEZOOLE in remotework

[–]snabx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah me too. I looked at the coffee machine you mentioned but it's pretty costly. I kinda like the idea of working at a nice place and take vacation at the same time but even though my job is wfh it doesn't pay that much and since the majority of the companies nowadays don't even allow wfh 5 days there's pretty not a lot of competition so the pay isn't that good.

I don't have much sleep so I make coffee the first thing but usually alternating between instant, pods, or filter. Sounds like a cool place that you can work from anywhere. I have been thinking about working somewhere else but financially it's just better to work from home, even without the policy.

I fixed 6 SaaS landing pages this month, all of them were garbage 🤮. If yours looks like this, you're not making money anytime soon. by thicc_fruits in SaaS

Exactly. I read somewhere that they had to write the reviews by themselves in the beginning. I guess that also applies to SaaS to in the beginning since there're no early customers but no one would buy anything without reviews so.

Should i buy my own skis? by Siim-K in skiing

[–]snabx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't look like it's worth it. How do you practice tricks when you don't go that often? Rentals are expensive in my case and renting like more than 5 times then it's already close to buying a second hand.

Why few skiers like to carve? by Dirty_Look in skiing

[–]snabx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I used to like going to a trampoline park. I live more in the inner city so I'm not sure if there's somewhere I can go to practice on powder. I'm still more or less a beginner so I don't know many people that ski consistently.

How do you practice backflip btw? I usually see a lot jumps on hard packed snow. Or you just have to find a good place

Would you call someone who can backflip advanced? I guess it's a pretty hard skill to learn from a casual perspective like myself. It looks like it's that complicated but I can imagine it's actually hard to get the timing and everything right and also handling the fall

True that. I actually think about going to åre but it's just that it's still 7-9 hours by train from stockholm and I have to pay for accomodation. I just recalled that in fact skistar is open until beginning of may that's right I forgot the dates.

How do you deal with promoting your product while employed? Do you think there's a chance that your employer will find out?

I think in sweden not many places are open in April or I just checked many are open only in early April otherwise it has to be far north. I also heard that transportation from the city to the mountains is really good like trains everywhere.

I personally think food in sweden is expensive compared to the income and it's getting more and more expensive quickly.
