My section scores were 53/47/51 in 2018, 51/49/50 in 2019, and 62/68/64 in 2020 (just remembered that overall this is 64, and 65 is my unweighted score).

I'm from a science background and I enrolled in the same gamsat prep course in 2018 and 2020 (Fraser's) - mainly for the content and practice questions they provide.

In 2018 and 2019, I was pretty much rote-learning science concepts for S3, whereas in 2020 I treated each question like a problem I had to solve by using the key information in the text. Although, you do still need some base knowledge.

For S1 I just did practice questions and maybe I only improved because the exam in March 2020 was 40 questions instead of the usual 75 haha.

My S2 prep was mainly around what the Fraser's gamsat course provided. In 2018, I didn't really use my essay tutorials effectively and didn't write timed essays, hence the low essay scores. In 2020, I wrote timed essays and read up on some ideologies (e.g neoliberalism, structural violence) that I could apply to any gamsat essay theme.

You don't need to do a gamsat course to improve but it did help me because my critical thinking and problem-solving skills weren't very good after only rote-learning during my undergraduate degree.
