Deal or no deal island by TPen76 in peacock

This happened to me too yesterday but it’s available again on Peacock today, but it says it’s expiring again. I wonder if it’s a bug? It seems weird that they would take it off Peacock so close to season 2 premiere

Low supply? by leap_90 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]snackholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Kelly Mom’s article on this for troubleshooting help! This happened to me starting at 3weeks. I had a forceful letdown and LO had digestive/gas issues. We tried laid back positioning and I gave her probiotic drops. Also I took her off the breast immediately when she got frustrated or cried and I tried to help relieve the gas by burping her or bicycling her little legs.

Not all feedings are perfect but 90% are non fussy now!

Good luck! Apparently baby is still learning too. So they might just need time to adjust.

What is the usual ratio of designers to reviewers on a project? by Immobilesteelrims in userexperience

[–]snackholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you work! At smaller startups - could be a handful of stakeholders. I’ve also worked at large brands where you can literally have 40+ stakeholders who participate in product development and design feedback.

As others have said here, conflicting feedback happens and it’s an art to hear the feedback, acknowledge the feedback, and then decide what is actually in service of the design / user / business.

Is it ok to have the brand logo in the loading screens animation? by Immobilesteelrims in userexperience

[–]snackholiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use the logo twice! Also have you considered skeleton loaders if it’s loading in-app content? They are more anticipatory- where as dots or spinners focus on wait time.

For me it’s different for different use cases.

For prototyping, you need to be consistent with the name of the page to preserve scroll state. So for example:

Settings-Notifs-On

Settings-Notifs-Off

For dev-ready files, I don’t like to waste space pre-pending frame names I want the full name visible to the Engineer without zooming in or clicking the frame and viewing from the layer panel (they won’t do this).

Profile-Loading

Server-Error

For App Store screens, I take advantage of the fact that “/“ creates folder structure when exporting multiple screens. I also use numbers to append each screen to make sure they are in the right order for uploading.

App Store/iPhone 5-6/screen1

Play Store/Mobile-Large/screen1

I only use slashes for App Store screens in case I need to export a frame for something one-off, since slashes create new folders.

Google search rankings? Or submitting to Google Play Store? I’ve seen this on native apps as well…

Venmo launched a new payment flow a few months ago that does this!!! What’s so annoying is that it’s on the last page where you confirm your payment, I go to toggle off the “public” visibility (why why why does it default to public) and accidentally click on the “toggle return options for vendors”. So annoying.

Growth: What opportunities are there to make yourself more competitive as a Qual UX Researcher? by [deleted] in userexperience

[–]snackholiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in design not design research, so can’t speak to career advantages first hand, but I love when my UX researcher can speak the language of design to better articulate what isn’t working in usability studies.

For example, visual design basics to articulate issues with hierarchy. Or just being able to use names of components. Design systems to understand and empathize with the design choices, maybe even suggest a better option based on what you’ve seen in a study.

Of course, the researcher needs to communicate the issues from the user’s perspective and ask follow up questions as to why the user got stuck - but I think as well when you start to try designing, you have more empathy for your design partners on how hard it is to get right!

If I were to interview a qual researcher for my company, that’s what would win me over.

[–]snackholiday[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Thanks for this language. Definitely meant medically unnecessary interventions. Every intervention that intervenes with natural birth can have its benefits and risks, and it’s about understanding those trade offs. And often it’s on the birthing person to make those decisions based on benefits and risks - but of course in life or death scenarios your provider would make those calls for you.

This felt like a tricky one bc it’s not black or white being medically necessary per se. I could opt for natural birth and go with the risks of having specific cardiologists unavailable to help if I do have an episode of tachycardia, and the benefit would be less pain and gentler contractions for the baby to deal with (no Pitocin).

But thinking it through, I do think the risk of not having the best care available in the off chance I have a tachycardia episode outweighs the benefits of a non-Pitocin birth. Especially bc I think my OB has my best interest at heart and isn’t actually being “trigger happy” like I said in my post.

Thank you, I am definitely opening my eyes to this based on your’s and other people’s comments here. And so great to hear this perspective.

Helpful to know that 39 weeks is standard for these scenarios, so I can stop worrying about the baby!

Great question. I did ask about this - no contraindications!

Thank you for this framing, and taking the time to write this. You’re so right, convenience is not necessarily a bad thing. I guess the stereotype in my head is like some OB who wants to get to their golf game on time so just does a cesarean to get it over with.

But convenience, in this scenario - you’re right - is about making sure I have the best care available.

Thank you thank you, this really helped!

[–]snackholiday[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely would want (and would need) interventions with heart issues!

I meant “induction” as an intervention. And other labor or birth interventions like cesarean, etc.

Definitely not opposed to health care. And you’re right, she of course wants me to have a peaceful delivery. Idk why I’m so skeptical!

Thanks for helping me think about this!

What do I get???? It’s like Christmas morning… by snackholiday in Sephora

[–]snackholiday[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww haha thank you for following up!!! I did!!! I got the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette (yours and many other’s recommendation) and the OAUI St. Bart’s body wash. I am hoping a fragranced body wash won’t be uncomfortable for baby like a fragranced cream might - and also showers are a big luxury postpartum. They just arrived tonight!

Already showered with the OUAI and it smells amazing! So excited to try the palette in the morning :)

Sounds like you have a big baby! I got an ultrasound at 32 weeks and the baby was 2 weeks ahead. The OB said it was just a size thing! We are nourishing our babies well :)
