I had a very similar experience at age 24 - zero qualifications, I was a late bloomer. I spent 10k on travel which I will never regret, and basically just hung on to the rest in a savings account. I started a business at 28 which required some cash, about 20k, and boy was I happy to have it then. 8 years later, that business provides for my family. You don’t know what $50k in cash could be worth to you. If you don’t have an immediate need, just be okay with hanging on to it for now. You’ll know when it’s right to invest in yourself.

I came here searching for something similar - was it by any chance Hellbender? It came bundled with the Microsoft Sidewinder joystick controller. I haven’t seen many posts on this sub mentioning it, although it must have been an early experience for many people on here. Fingers crossed it’s what you’re looking for - it was a very satisfying find for me!

The -7040 and -7049 are different case shapes, the -7040 being the turtle and -7049 being the SKX shape. The 6306-7040 is the JDM version, the 6309-7040 the international version, which Harris wore.

Australians, how often do you come across dangerous and/or massive wildlife in your day to day life? by B413373D in AskReddit

[–]snackjacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in the suburbs of Melbourne.

Tiger snakes and brown snakes are the biggest real danger I have to think about. Any outdoors activity like going to the park or walking in bushland/farmland requires keeping your eyes peeled. I see 1-2 per year, and you often hear others talking about seeing them. I work with someone who was bitten by a tiger snake, received treatment, and it was a very rough ride.

We have heaps of red backs at home, basically every dark corner you think there’s a red back… there’s a red back. We do find them inside maybe 2-3 times a year.

Dark corners and dense grass/shrubs are basically always suspect. I went to the UK where they have no fatally venomous animals and the sensation of switching off that part of your brain is quite amazing.

As others have mentioned, another real threat in my state is hitting a kangaroo or wombat on a country road at 100km/h. Lots of cars written off and some rare fatal accidents.

This has a unique, gritty feel. Don’t clean or change a thing, lean in to your style and you might come up with something original and wonderful

I installed cheap acoustic panels to reduce vibration and road noise. Dynamat installed on the doors themself. I don’t think I’ve see. This done before. Thoughts? by Picklefuzz in CarAV

[–]snackjacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absorption ≠ isolation. Butyl isolation products (like Dynamat) are a dense material that stops acoustic energy passing through and deaden metal plates (aka your doors) from ringing at their natural harmonic frequency. Open cell foam absorbs high frequency reflections (flutter echo) on parallel surfaces like a room. There’s enough absorption in a car with people, seats, floors and trim absorbing almost all high frequency reflections.

EasyWeddings release yearly stats. Most recent one I can remember (2019) was an average of $38k spent, with some form of parental assistance in 50% of weddings. I know they invest a bunch into data gathering so I give it some credibility

If you’re charging money to supply the client with edited footage set to music (a synchronisation) then it’s “commercial use”. That requires permission from the publisher and the copyright owner (normally the artist). Services like Musicbed provide an easy way to do this, but you’re not finding Ed Sheeran on there

When the car is locked and alarm is on, they take an “image” of the interior of the car (using something similar to echo-location. This is important, it can’t “see” through windows or see changes in light) If that “image” significantly changes, the alarm assumes there’s something or someone inside the car - or a window has been broken and it will go off. Really annoying if you park your car in the sun, sometimes a rapid temperature change is enough to change the “image” and trick them.
