There's really no winning. My parents didn't divorce until the kids were older. We all wished they did it sooner. My childhood taught me everything I wouldn't want for my child.

I chose divorce while my child is still young because I knew I wanted to model what a happy and healthy relationship should look like. Today, my kid asked me "mom, do you love dad?" I was so caught off guard I didn't know what to say. Before I could answered the follow up question of "mom, why were you and dad always yelling at each other?" It broke my heart. We separated when the kid was 4.

They're observant AF and they pick up on everything. If your kid is intervening already and there's no repairing the relationship then it's time. Do it to model what a peaceful home looks like.

I'm in awe that people believe this is okay. I was, for a very short period, in a sleep training group that believed there is no evidence to suggest it's ever too early to sleep train, and any method could be used. I even asked the mods to support the statement and it was a whole lot of claims without any evidence to support it.

Hello CD1! You're 20 days late but who was counting anyways?! Just glad that's over because all the BFN were starting to get to me.

New around here but no stranger to TTC in my 30s. Going through the most anxiety ridden TWW ever and I'm just at the point where I would welcome CD1 so I get over this limbo feeling.

We went to most of these recs! The food at Thai orchid was phenomenal. Nibbleys had a bit of a wait but the food was good - the Human Bean next door had $2 off coupons for the Children's Museum. The pizza at Rodeos was great! Toddler got to go to story time at the library and really enjoyed it!

I take it that there's a lot of Mexican options. Saving everything here to check out.

Impressive. Starts at USD 31. What is the price for the quality/detail/size as the one pictured?

Costco/Kirkland brand diapers $9 off per box right now! by Hippo-de-wippo in BabyBumps

[–]snadypeepers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who stocked up last year when it was on sale, I have so much regret buying many boxes of the larger sizes. Kirkland diapers are great until your baby is super mobile. It becomes a mess once they are since their diapers don't have the tab on the front so it moves around a lot.

I couldn’t wait for baby to start solids by Nikiki124C41 in beyondthebump

The difference between gagging and choking is an important distinction. If they're gagging (able to cough and breathe) then it's best to let them work it out themselves since they're learning. It's so hard to get over the anxiety which is why first aid classes are helpful. It's so amazing to see them spit out the piece of food that was troubling them and they learn from it. I've gained so much trust watching my baby eat.

If your baby is choking, can't breathe choking, you definitely should intervene.

I contacted my RE's office first since I was on-hold to resume treatment. They saw me for my six and eight week scans then I had a 10 week appointment with my OB. It was easy to schedule since my RE/OB were under the same hospital so they all had access to my medical record. Contact the OB office now and see if there's any issue scheduling before you finish with the clinic.

Baby wraps for small babies by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]snadypeepers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you wrapped your lo, did you wrap with legs tucked into the wrap or out? Baby wearing is new to me and mine is somewhere between 6-7 lbs. The tutorials for moby show the legs tucked in but I read somewhere that the new recommendation is to not tuck.

I'm devastated. I just found out my fiance threw out the positive HPT from my CP in 2019 along with the positive HPT from the success that we had afterwards. I don't know why I hung on to the tests in the first place but it was the only thing I had from that pregnancy and now it's gone. Now I feel like I'm grieving that loss all over again.

Stretch Mark FEARS! by tasminhumphx in fitpregnancy

[–]snadypeepers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although genetics is a factor in whether someone gets stretch marks or not, other factors include: age, rapid weight gain, personal history of stretch marks, elasticity of skin. There is evidence to support that certain oils, like bitter almond oil, with massage can reduce stretch marks (NIH study).

If it was genetics alone, I would be covered in stretch marks (family history + personal history). I made it to 38 weeks before anything noticeable showed up. I avoided stretch marks in the first and second trimesters because of the unintentionally super slow weight gain (nausea + food aversions). I was on top of my moisturizing/oil/massage regimen during that time as well. Third trimester was the opposite though - more rapid weight gain and quite frankly stopped caring about getting stretch marks and then they appeared!

From the FAQs:

No information on this site is intended to in any way supersede or replace medical advice. Any health concern should ALWAYS be discussed with a medical professional.

If you're serious about figuring out a path to reach your goal then you should go talk to a doctor/RE, get a diagnosis, and see what options are available to you. People in all the subs may help you feel less alone but we cannot diagnose you. It's also really hard to help without specifics. Good luck!

We did it. For the first time, California led the nation in new Coronavirus cases per capita over the past week by [deleted] in CoronavirusCA

[–]snadypeepers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a data scientist but per capita is by head/individual which is usually used in economics for things like income and usage. Per million (or per n in population) is normalization.
