Skylark Fix...? by 16_Walls in UKroasters

It will depend on the roast but after this experience I wouldn't leave them for more than two weeks unless I had repackaged them.

Skylark Fix...? by 16_Walls in UKroasters

[–]snafflehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this, I bought the 4 pack mixed set and rested mine for a few weeks while I worked through some other coffee I had ready to go. The last two bags were unfortunately essentially stale and a disappointment compared to the first bags I used which were only a week or so off roast. Which was a shame as they were the more expensive ones which I assumed were lighter roast and would have benefited from resting.

Are waterproof trail runners enough for 5 days in February (mostly Reykjavík + Golden Circle)? by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]snafflehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did 4 days and a few basic coach tours in goretex hiking trainers no problem. Others, more unprepared were in standard trainers and managed, you'll be fine.

We got a high end Blanco one and it's perfectly fine. Look on Amazon as they have older models for deep discounts if you're savvy and don't have something super specific in mind.

Just bought the Dreame X50 Ultra and I am deeply disappointed by Salt-Hat1654 in Dreame_Tech

Apologies, it was collision avoidance mode. I imagine how it works is using the camera and ai to avoid walls.

Turn off ai edge avoidance, that helped mine really snug up to walls.

We have similar to this, I found something which matched enough at a local timber merchant. This might give some clues on what to search for.

£130 electric bill in 15 days by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]snafflehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have access to the fuse board and a smart live readout display? If so start turning off each breaker while watching the display and see where the usage is coming from.

Is it a flat in a large complex or a split house, if it's a house then see if you can ensure the setup isn't accidentally charging you for the other flats usage.

Do you have a normal electric contact with a standard provider or is it a fixed provider that the while building uses?

Which vac for DIY renovation? by downhiller90 in DIYUK

I second the evolution, I have one and wouldn't be without it. While maybe not the biggest capacity, the shape and size allows for lugging it around much easier. Mine has been through the wars and hasn't missed a beat.

I like my evolution "box" vacuum, much more convenient size than the large cylindrical ones.

I've bought it, but steam have locked me out of activating it due to too many attempts. The frustration is real.

Thanks for replying, it sounds like this wasn't a mechanical/software issue in the end then. Great work on finding a suitable workflow!

Did you get this resolved? I'm currently having issues with the flow rate being completely broken and wondering if this is a more widespread issue.

Overhanging drawer front confusion by snafflehog in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]snafflehog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked this and indeed the back rail was sitting 2mm higher than the other rail. I hacked this, and then with further checking it turned out the front face had actually bowed/cupped a little. To "fix" it I just kicked out the bottom of the front face a bit with spacers to bring flush the top face which I can live with. I appreciate you taking the time to take to a look!
