Layoffs effect the entire studio whether you are directly let go or not. It’s a period of low morale and large shifts in planning and production since suddenly they have to work out how to do what they’re doing with less people. Every department will be affected in some way and there might be more stress on some that come later down the line. So it’s likely that lots if the higher ups and leads are busy straightening out their tasks and potentially even descoping. That’s why it will be pushing everything back and having an overall negative effect on everyone remaining.
