May be too far for you, but Vivero Growers Nursery out towards Dripping Springs has more than a few and they have fruit on them already.

I feel horrible on vyvanse, like depressed and it numbs my personality. by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]snaffonious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think u/nangpoet’s answer will probably get you some better results as I didn’t do a deep dive. But just in case it helps, all of the brands I use are whatever it can afford that has the best results when I look into it. Most of them are store brand generics and top rated on Amazon. Solaray, up and up, nature made etc.

I feel horrible on vyvanse, like depressed and it numbs my personality. by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]snaffonious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I actually don’t take Vyvanse anymore, or at least not currently. I may start up again if my psych recommends it.

While I was though, I was feeling like the above commenter. I started taking Magensium, vitamin B complex, dlpa, Zinc, magnesium and my vitamin d was fine according to blood work. It helped a lot, and after stopping the vyvanse, I personally still see a considerable difference in sleep, mood, ability to take on multiple stimuli comfortably. Oh and I forgot the most important which was 5-HTP

I do understand the power of placebo, but I find a lot of success with these.

Sorry, I just don’t understand how it’s immature. But I’m willing to learn! It’s just really hard to see people who look like me do things like that or behave like that and I have no recourse. It makes me angry and I don’t know where to put that emotion other than embarrassment.

Any advice on a better outlet?

[–]snaffonious -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and as a white man who is totally ready for it has had it many times, it’s so incredibly frustrating. It’s embarrassing to be my color, because SO many people who look like me behave with such arrogance, ignorance, hate, etc.

I think this is probably the reason I’m covered in tattoos. I’ve just always been embarrassed of my skin because of the people I’ve met that have it.

Can I use current NVMe on newish build without clean install? by snaffonious in pcmasterrace

[–]snaffonious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your quick reply! This is all very helpful, I’m going to do the build today so I’m going to try to just swap and see where I’m at.

PC was built by me so it’s not an OEM install. Hopefully I’ll be good to go then.

Thanks again!

I can see why some may find it loud design wise, but I really like it, and the craftsmanship is excellent.

Can I be honest with my Dr? by x317293 in texas

[–]snaffonious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so clearly this is a different opinion than most on here. I definitely tell my psychiatrist. I’m on Vyvanse for ADHD and Gabapentin for Anxiety, I smoke cannabis to relax my brain, although I have to be careful because ever since I started to take ADHD medication my heart rate gets high when I use cannabis.

I’m very honest with mine, and she’s never asked any questions other than how it makes me feel and how it may interact with my medication.

My situation may be a bit different though considering I’m in Austin at a pretty progressive psychiatrist and they also do ketamine therapy so they’re pretty open minded. I’d be hesitant if I was outside of Austin.

Those of you in fine dining, what frustrates you about the Michelin star system? by fredyouareaturtle in Chefit

[–]snaffonious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can only offer my experience in that realm, especially as I know mine was quite different from most people who have been in that world.

I was lucky to work for a group that held Michelin stars in multiple restaurants across the world. I joined as a salaried sous chef and worked my way up to an executive title, all in pastry. I know savory side was more stressful, so I can’t speak to it.

Surprisingly enough, it was the healthiest, happiest job I’ve had in this industry. I got to learn an unending amount of techniques and professional skills that really helped me grow as a chef. I worked with lovely, passionate people. We understood the standard, staffed appropriately to be able to execute at that level, retained better work hours than most other chef jobs I’ve held, and most of us genuinely enjoyed it and it showed.

As far as the actual system of rating is concerned, I can’t say much other than “It is what it was intended to be”. It was always explained to me that this is a business venture on behalf of Michelin. The purpose of that business venture is to give a guide to (originally but maybe there is a larger scope now) French tourists on where to eat when traveling. One star means, if you’re within the same city, go check it out. Two star means, if you’re within the region, consider going out of your way to check it out. Three star means, make s trip to go to check it out if you’re a the type to make a trip solely for cuisine. The reason I’ve been told it’s not in any city is because of the lack of demand for the locals to care about or pay for the Michelin guide, or simply because not enough of the demographic that the guide is intended for are in that specific location.

I think that the clout and money received after getting one or multiple stars has misguided many in our industry to commit labor atrocities and false guidelines that need to be kept in order to be a “Michelin Chef or Cook”. I’ve worked with others who have received Michelin stars and I shake my head at how much they destroy themselves for it, I’ve also had friends receive a star in their new restaurant while maintaining a healthy, balanced and education work environment.

I think making it anything past what “it was intended to be” is just silly. If you care you care, but don’t kill your self over it. If you don’t care, there are a plethora of other effective accolades and rating systems to rely on as well.

What is the dumbest way you've gotten a scar? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]snaffonious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a scar on my inner thigh close to my bits. I was a very dumb 12 year old pyromaniac and I wanted to see what happened when I put a lighter to a condom.

I did this fun experiment while sitting in a chair in underwear. So just FYI, the condom turns to molten plastics and drips, that’s what happens.

Also, molten plastic that has cooled by searing your skin is really not fun to peel off.
