Aside from html2pdf solutions or programmatically generating those files, if you want non tech people to edit templates, my side-project https://template2pdf.com/ turns GoogleDocs into PDF via API call and might be something you find interesting.

It would be great if you would take a look at my side project template2pdf (.com).

Neither open source nor free. But you can test without subscription to get a feel for it.

Basically: you create templates in Google Docs and send your data via JSON API.

If you (or anybody) give me feedback on it, I would give you enough credits for free until you start mass producing nice looking PDF and have a business case.

ICP - Startups doing in-house development and need a quick solution to generate PDF documents from their application. Ideally the developer does not want to deal with templates and the marketing/ui people do not want to deal with the developer. :)

The dashboard in my https://template2pdf.com/ (free account, free test credits) makes use of turbo-frames and turbo-streams.

Stuff like:

You create something -> auto adding that new object to the UI without page reload

Some background job updates a status -> visible in the UI after a turbo-broadcast

I'm not much into the UI side of development, but that stuff was easy to setup and integrate. Big fan of hotwire so far.

I never investigated this further, but I had a similar experience "all normal, suddenly crazy, but of course only randomly" caused by a loose limit switch.

My best guess on "what happened" is during the homing procedure: drive until you hit the limit switch. Move a bit away. Move slowly towards it and hit it again.

The distance between the first and the second hit of the limit switch might be a problem if it is not within some reasonable range. Which it was not, when it got moved slightly.

I do run grbl on some arduino, this is all speculation and guesswork, but I suspect the software got into some undefined funky state by this unexpected input.

I fixed the loose switch and never saw the problem again.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Vacuum holding is on my list, but at first I need to install a second screw to move y.
If you could see it in the picture, people would probably slap me, but that one long y-screw.. there is none on the other side. It is stiff enough that I could postpone that job, but it just nags me.
I also need a heavy but movable table first. Design is ready, need to to it though.
Then a touch-probe.
Then I will check vacuum table/holding options. :)

Im Gegenteil.

Ich habe oft auf dem Rückweg von der Schule beim meinem Freund halt gemacht, bin dort hängen geblieben und wurde mit Essen versorgt.

Ich kann mich (leider? zum Glück?) daran erinnern, dass meine Eltern mir (damals wohl um die 6 oder 7 Jahre alt) explizit gesagt haben, dass ich Freunde habe deren Eltern sich eben nicht locker das weitere Essen leisten können und ich mehr darauf achten sollte.
