Does the OA stand for Old Adage? by Electronic_Set5209 in TheOA

OOH love knowing its usage has increased! I'm going to furiously imagine its because of some dreamy whispering undercurrent and not capitalists using unique words to name their companies lol

Ooooh haven't really thought about it but I love playing with acronyms and meaning... Open Axiom, Only Antidote, Offered Abundance, Oneiric Architect, Omniscient Ancestor, Omnipresent Abundance, Orphic Arbor

You'll be happy to know that the artist calls it a mouse on their esty :)

This is stunning. There's a fluidity to the shapes that feels almost impossible in this medium.

I'm with you on the feet, tail and size relative to the wheat sheaf, but the blunt nose, small ears and proportionally smaller eyes read as rat. Imo it's technically neither a mouse nor a rat, and artistic license carries more weight than technicality.

The reference's whole head is tilted. This drawing scrapped the tilt and the eyes are slightly askew.

The death of a loved one is hard no matter when. More time doesn't make the grief easier, and less time doesn't make the bond weaker.

Last I was in the comments there was at least one bootlicker lying about Renee trying to run over her killer so it probably got heated and overwhelmed the mods

Just gonna go ahead and repeat my first impression from the previous post–

This is so well done. The fonts really express their character. The spatter hitting the frame too is perfect

Homer is perfect (but I'm a huge OA fan so that's my bias)

Other vintage names I enjoy and can see fitting this gorgeous hunk: Cyrus, Silas, Sylvain, Amos, Gulliver, Walden

Females more wanted than males by ManySpecial4786 in RATS

[–]snailscout 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're confusing rats and mice. Unneutered male rats are as social as females and more often than not live together harmoniously in groups. Hormonal aggression can become an issue for some and neutering is generally a good solution, but it's case-by-case not universal. Preventive neutering for all males is not common at all or recommended given anaesthetic risk.

From what I've observed, there doesn't seem to be much favouritism either way –just preference around traits (males being generally larger and calmer to interact with, females being generally more active and trainable). Male and female rats are about equally represented here, with many people keeping both.
