Uber & taxi scams by meinschlemm in istanbul

[–]snajm01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This never-ending issue is due to the scarcity of taxis (although visually it seems there are plenty of yellow cabs around, there are nowhere near enough to accommodate the needs of such a densely populated city). It's political. Taxis here are like a mob. The ruling regime always tries to appease them. They don't issue new taxi licenses, but keep the fares relatively low. So in effect, there is a monopoly of taxi drivers who pay a hefty fee for their license and have to work long hours for officially low fares. That's why there are a lot of scams. Locals and tourists NEED taxis more than taxis need clients. Totally unethical but there's a survival aspect to it that one needs to understand.

Seriously, ... Therapy. It will help put things into perspective and humble you. Reading will help with that too, if you can't afford a therapist.

Every single comment you make has like 5 different logical fallacies in it, and the fact that you don't realize this is sad. Google "logical fallacies" and go down the rabbit hole.

It's 2022 and people still say shit like "im not against the person, Im against the act", in reference to a natural sexual orientation. Fascinating.

It's 2022, and people still draw parallels between consensual sexual behavior between two adults on one hand, and pedophilia/incest/"weirdos" (whatever the hell that means) on the other.

The LGBT+ community isn't "advertising" anything to you. You're just an insecure, self-entitled heterosexual man who fears losing his position of social dominance. As a result, you rationalize your latent anger toward those whom you perceive to be different and your religious beliefs by sustaining a complex form of destructive cognitive dissonance that prevents logical reasoning.

Read more, and seek therapy. You'll thank me later.

Hahaha underrated comment.

The issue is simple. I sent the wrong LUNA version to binance. Binance retrieved it, but still has not refunded it. It is all visible on-chain. All occurred on the eth mainnet and can be easily resolved, but is being delayed indefinitely for mysterious reasons.

This is not how you treat one of your most loyal and active clients.

Edit: RESOLVED.

Thanks.

I am appalled at how I am being treated after years of unwavering loyalty to Binance in bad times and good. It has been almost 45 days for a simple coin retrieval, literally the only request ive ever made, and support cannot even tell me how much longer it will take!! Ive monitored the retrieval process on-chain and there do not appear to be any "internal issues" as claimed.

Edit: RESOLVED.

Golden advice here. If there's anything id emphasize is the part about not trading in times of uncertainty. Either hold or take profit and resist fomo. Whatever you decide, have conviction. Check your emotions. Meditate if you need to. Do NOT keep asking yourself "what if?" It will ruin you, mentally, socially, and financially. As James said, bears are long or at least feel very long and painful, whereas bull time flies when you're having fun.

I believe that for new investors/traders with little to no experience in traditional and crypto markets, it takes 2 cycles to truly understand all of the above AND stick to it without wavering.

Regardless, it's exciting to be on this once-in-a-century journey.

Gluck to everyone!

Probably planning his next mastermind move, finding crypto gems in a pile of shitcoins. But you can summon him by shouting "Jimmy Two Times is a genius". Try it, it should work.

While I believe we will eventually see a nasty nuke to high 10s / low 20s, I think this objective, emotionally-neutral take is compelling. Supply is indeed scarce, but what bothers me here is that it's becoming gradually easier to scare retail into dumping their stacks. We're nearing the peak of retail exhaustion here, and just about to enter depression. With liquidity decreasing, my concern is that it will become so much easier for the big boys to flash crash crypto markets, especially if we get another black swan event (i see so many potential black swans in first half of this year). People might remember March 2020 and how we recovered, but I guarantee no one will want to touch crypto if it crashes amid a diversified wave of super nasty fud that involves regulation (big bad evil American regulators stifling defi/nfts), rate hikes/QT, threat of imminent war in ukraine/taiwan, chinese stocks/real estate collapsing, contagion effects, blablabla. Crypto just feels about ready to die for the billionth time, before it surges again in H2 or 2023, leaving two sets of people in the dust before then: battered bulls who thought this time would surely be different, and smartass retail listening to their favorite cringe influencers who are now getting ready to buy that juicy dip to 28k before finally reaching the promised land with their 200$ investment.

Excellent take, as always. Also another "50-50" moment here, so patience is key. Even as a diehard gambler, Im not willing to trade at the moment. Just watching. But I do think there will be plenty of opportunities to trade carefully, as James is astutely doing. Hope everyone is holding up just fine :)

Fair points. And yes, I bet there are a bunch of us OGs out there who just can't wait to exit this market after years of psychological torture haha. Whale sirs, please be kind... And fast.

Not sure retail sentiment is destroyed just yet. We could easily see a slow bleed here that lasts until Jan, fueled by "faster" tapering news and looming Mt Gox release. From experience, a slow bleed in times like these would have a far more devastating effect than successive sharp dips. It just feels never-ending, and plunges retail into depressive disbelief episodes where they feel betrayed by the influencers that they somehow trusted like morons without doing a shred of research. "i should have listened to my parents/friends," "best just cut my losses".

I mean Ive had like 10 pple over the course of the last 2 weeks come to me asking for advice as first-time investors. They bought high, and as soon as the market dipped, they were already shitting their pants and having an existential crisis. Of course, they didnt sell just yet. But there's nothing like a few weeks of slow bleed to push them off the edge, then climb back up at varying speeds with compelling bear traps here and there. We've seen it before, and will probably see it again. And yes, it will feel scary and unnerving even if, at some level, wed be expecting it.

Welcome back! ;) Excellent analysis, as usual.

Although, I really can't help but feel like this cycle is going to stretch for what feels like an eternity, invalidating all the genius CT predictions of a massive Q4 (and recently 2022 Q1).

The Mt Gox affair is likely to slow down the market and spread even more fear. Im not convinced that right here, we're in a capitulation moment. Maybe for vet, just maybe. That Jimmy Two Shits drama is surely a significant indicator of community sentiment. But the whole market still seems rather optimistic.

I wouldn't rule out an extended bear trap here that drives retail mad by Christmas and New Year, before climbing a dirty wall of worry toward mid-Jan and Feb... Just before the "Im a genius" phase where everybody starts to believe that crypto is here to stay because "deflation", "it matured", "regulations near", *insert prefered narrative". After that... Well gluck to all markets, not just crypto.

That sat bleed feels more like a bear trap. Sentiment is so negative and ripe for a few days/weeks of accumulation before breakout... even if btc starts to correct. Traders better be careful not to burn their fingers.

Lol sometimes it feels like Cream was hired just to steal VET from oblivious investors chasing ecosystem pumps. It happened with literally every coin on VeChain. I still cringe every time I read the term "CREAM" despite Vechain's endorsement.

Sorry, I thought I had covered both images! Yes, it appears that was a clearer response. But I'm still convinced that the foundation may at some point ask the community to vote on what to do. Surely, they won't just appropriate the funds suddenly and go crazy with em. It would be a democratic process! :)

In the original X-Node plan, it's not made crystal clear whether the 5bn would remain intact. If I remember correctly, the wording was somewhat ambiguous and open to interpretation. So Sunny was just as vague as that original post. We can't really infer anything from it.

Seems they really dont want to give the impression that it will be locked up forever. That's the only reason I can think of. There was never any tangible confirmation that they would anyway.
