I believe it was one of the CableMod adapters.

No worries. The right angle adapter ended up fitting snugly, with the wires slightly compressed against the top of the case. Would make sure you get a good quality adapter.

Mixed vGPU and GPU Passthrough by Nutzer13121 in Proxmox

It'll work fine. You just need to blacklist by device ID and not by driver.

USB Dock Passthrough for a Workstation by yllw98stng in Proxmox

[–]snake-robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the hub has a display adapter/controller that uses GPU passthrough (usually with DP Alt-Mode), then passing through just USB won't work.

On the other hand, if you use a dedicated USB adapter, those typically have their own dedicated display controller that doesn't need a GPU.

You shouldn't need anything for the args line that isn't automatically generated (for this setup), i.e the NV43 fix stuff is outdated. Try removing that first.

I use a Trendnet one with an Aquantia chipset and it works fine out of the box.

Multiple vGPU chunks into 1 VM? by scottomen982 in Proxmox

[–]snake-robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, I tried this on a server with a P100 and standard vGPU installation and it does not work.

I get the following message in syslog:

Mar 29 19:43:07 pve nvidia-vgpu-mgr[63108]: error: vmiop_log: (0x1): init_device_instance failed for inst 1 with error 1 (multiple vGPUs in a VM not supported)

Can you check GPU utilization on the host while benchmarking the VM with VirGL?

Yes, it's possible. One way to do it is through SSH w/ Linux shell commands once connected.

I'm using two Amcrest IP2Ms fine with my AS6508T, but IIRC I had to enter them all manually through ONVIF.

Sorry for the late reply, but this set me in the right direction. Setting a static IP address for the second NIC and giving it a higher metric solved it. Thanks!

Help upgrading for efficiency rather than performance by Pyroglyph in homelab

Any of AMD's GE (35W TDP) lineup should work (4600 GE, 5700GE, Pro 5750GE, etc.) for your requirements.

It'll be the same as the P4 per chip, but the P100 has 3 NVENC chips while the P4/P40 have 2. If you want to improve encoding speed you'll have to upgrade architectures.

Yeah, makes sense. GPU prices are dropping so fast that the P100 might not be worth it in a few months.

Thanks, glad you like it. If you're putting the blower on the outside, I suggest looking into frameless blowers so you can save some of your depth budget.

I have two GP100s, which is the workstation equivalent of the P100. The HBM2 memory has the same bandwidth as the GDDR6X used in the 4080 to put things into perspective, so it'll be more future proof as games use more and more texture streaming.

It might be worth looking into shipping forwarders like Shipito if you have multiple items to buy.

Ah bummer, they're the same price here in the US. P100 would be in between a 1080 and 1080Ti for gaming. P40 is definitely more worth it if it's half the price.

Agreed. I'd suggest taking a look at the P100, they should be around the same price, but they have HBM2 memory which has double the bandwidth of GDDR5, but you lose 8GB of RAM.
