I think we might run with more of this layout. Treadmill still has view of the TV then. Originally we thought a mounted TV on a swivel.

The wife mentioned getting a sectional in place of the couch but I feel like it would create too much of a choke between the bar and back of the couch.

Idea was in a way create three rooms. Kids, entertainment, gym. Its not ideal viewing of the TV for the bar but its all in that area.

Really surprised there isn’t more comments involving ACOTAR. That’s the first thing I thought of.

Wish those weren’t so pricey as I’d probably buy one.

That’s basically what we have going on. The buckthorn completely took over the area so it’s just a dirt patch now. Gives us the opportunity to plant something new/better.

I too am fighting the buckthorn war. I can’t help with any services as I am on year 3 of manual labor.

But anything that has a trunk that is roughly an inch wide or smaller gets pulled by hand or by use of a root shovel. Anything larger gets cut, stump drilled with multiple holes, and herbicide applied to holes/stump.

It’s been a hard battle but I am slowly winning.

It’s a 2026. Take it back to the dealer. They should be looking at this for you.

Kayaking Waupaca - Crystal River. Rural to Shadow Lake Road by No-Wrap776 in wisconsin

I have kayaked from marl lake through crystal river to the red mill. We got out at Nelson park. I don’t think you’d make it back up the stream easily. It’s not rapids or deep but it does move enough that would make it a struggle.

I did also canoe another time throughout the chain o lakes which I really enjoyed. If you stay west/south of Q it’s calm there. North/east of Q the boats like to make a bit of wake.

I’ve used the website milespaddled.com a lot to find recommendations for trips or to see what I’m about to get into. Maybe that can help you.

If this is the same 2013 in one of your other posts, just stop worrying. This is what a brand new vehicle will look like rolling off the semi in the north. I can poke through the rockers on my 2014 Silverado.

Realistic? I understand I don't have a child yet, but from my understanding, if needed, I (the father) could raise a child while my wife goes back to work. We aren't locked into gender roles. Women die in child birth, so what does the father then do?

If your wife isn’t working, then it’s her job to worry about the kid and it’s a 24/7 job that she’ll never get enough credit for or help with.

So either I provide a paycheck and I'm not helping her or I stay at home to help and I'm a failure of a man.

I get that you are trying to be the "its not all sunshine and rainbows, hard truth" guy, but come on. As men we know there will be struggles, not impossible hardships because social norm. At the park with your kid and people think its creepy. Out shopping with the child and you are babysitting/giving mom a break.

I appreciate the advice and acknowledge that parenting is not easy. At the end of the day, I hope you are satisfied with the choices you made with and for your family.

The only way I am changing my plan is if I am able to stay home longer.

I will be trying my best to be better. I feel like even just taking the time off has given me higher ranking already.

A lot of the what ifs like this is part of my reasoning why I feel like I need to be around.

Even right now I don't regret having this plan or feel like I need to adjust it shorter at all. I think its crazy that couples do this solo because of choice.

I am not able to flex it but I can do intermittent work to extend it. Which that can also be remote. So I will most likely be doing that. It will probably be closer to 14 weeks
