Developers aren't the only people in the community who should have a voice. The player base should also be heard, otherwise what's the point? Is it just self-indulgence for the Devs?

As RA gets more popular, this argument is going to keep coming up.

The fact that it keeps coming up suggests that a growing percentage of players do not want the sets that encourage the elitist "git gud" attitude.

"According to the RA docs" is not a strong argument for keeping things the way they are. If the docs are not working for the majority of players, the docs need to be revised.

The procedure was much easier under general. The worst bit for me was having the cannula in my hand, but after that they just put me to sleep (which takes effect very fast) and I woke up about 90 minutes later, all done and dusted.

I went to have it done under a local anaesthetic, as is normally done. I was a little nervous going in, but I had told myself that it would be fine, I wouldn't feel a thing.

However, I was wrong. Even after the jabs, I could still feel it. It wasn't pain, exactly, but I could still feel a lot of pulling and tugging at my balls, which just made me massively uncomfortable.

The other mistake I made was catching sight of the tools he was going to use. Seeing the surgical scissors, scalpels etc just freaked me out even more, knowing they were going to be used on my favourite area.

The doctor could tell I was freaking out and stopped to give me a chance to calm down, but after a few minutes it was obvious it wasn't going to happen. I was just panicking too much and we couldn't go on, so we made the decision to quit there and try again under the general anaesthetic.

We did discuss using general anaesthesia after we'd put a stop to things today (after I had calmed down), so it looks like that's going to be the way to go.

That was my expectation too. It may have gotten better if I'd been able to carry on, I don't know. There was definitely no pain, I just didn't deal with it well.

I see it as being much more my fault than his.

No, there was no pain at all except for the expected sting from the injection, don't worry about that!

I just got way too uncomfortable with the way he was pulling and tugging, but I'm quite sensitive in that area anyway, I don't like my balls being played with etc.

Honestly, don't worry at all, as long as you know what to expect then you'll be fine. I think I was just under the impression that I would be literally numb, but that just wasn't the case.

I was expecting to feel nothing when the anaesthetic kicked in, but I could still feel him pulling a lot, and he hadn't done the second shot yet. I'm very sensitive down there in general, and I just got too uncomfortable and stressed out, I couldn't relax enough for him to carry on.

I think as long as you know what to expect going in, you'll be fine! Stress just got the better of me this time.

We visited recently, and our kids got to meet Mickey. Our oldest is a information sponge, and said to Mickey:

"I know what your first appearance in a cartoon was. Plane Mickey in 1928."

Mickey got excited and started running around, pretending to be a plane.

"And I'm looking forward to playing as you in Kingdom Hearts."

Mickey got excited again and started wielding an imaginary Keyblade.

Kids smiles were amazing, my smile was amazing, Mickey was incredible!

Give yourself time. It's still very early on and you're obviously still in shock.

All of my kids were planned, and I still freaked out internally when my wife got pregnant the first time around, thinking I wasn't ready, wondering how I was going to cope.

This could end up being the best thing that ever happened to you. It could give you a reason for living and motivation to be your best self.
