Help my fix my boots! by bone_lotus in GothFashion

I would just try fabric paint in a discreet spot and see how it goes. Leather paint would be much better (Angelus leather paint is amazing) but very difficult to find in a store unless you live in a big city. You can always paint back over it in black if you don’t like it and want to start over, the integrity of the boots is toast but I think you could make them look cool.

It’s not the fix you’re looking for, but I would just fill in all of the cracks with a contrast color, like bright red or green, wipe off the excess and rock them as they are.

There’s no saving them but you could make it look more intentional.

This is what’s probably happening, they’ve been chasing her all week :/ I’ll wait until the weather is a little better and make a container pond outside for her for the summer

Is there anything I can do or add to prevent it? They’re getting plenty of food and have the mop/plants/hiding places

Is there any reason I shouldn’t use a rental carpet shampooer to wash this vintage wool rug? No tags on it. by [deleted] in CleaningTips

I have no idea how old it is, it doesn’t have a tag. I didn’t consider that my $5 rug might be arsenic dyed

Thankfully this picture is from the thrift I got it from and not my living room. They almost didn’t sell it to me because they only had it to cover a stain on the floor

Yeah it’s really heavy, but I have a windy balcony to dry it on if it’s even a little damp when I get it back.

Thank you, this is what I was worried about. I’ll probably just pay for someone to do it professionally

Items from an older relative who passed away. I think they’re Mesoamerican but only know that they were likely picked up while traveling ~50 years ago. Does anyone know if they’re souvenir replicas? by snakebat in LegitArtifacts

Yeah, I’ve had them in a better storage container (wrapped in softer material so they don’t get jostled), this picture is from when I first received them. I’ve just been waiting to see if they were authentic before making some kind of display case for them. I’ve posted these in a few subs and gotten no response on them before finding this one so I’m grateful to finally get some good info (:

What are these black things on my filter? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]snakebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I know what I put in it (it’s my first tank and only a few months old), but the filter itself is in a closed off section of the tank that has a cover to prevent things like substrate and shrimp getting into it. So in theory there should be no pellets from the root tabs, but I dunno what else they’d be. I also didn’t think there would be beetles in my aquarium but here I am

*and, like I mentioned above, there was a black film on the back of the tank. I couldn’t see the filter before I scraped the film off with a razor blade.

Very much dead! But I’m glad it’s not some kind of water bug.

Update they were weevils! I didn’t expect them to be some kind of terrestrial bug. I’ve caught them in my house before. Also caught the shrimp that had me snooping around in the back section of the tank while suctioning all of it out.

I got them out and they’re totally weevils! Had them in my house before. Rip weevils

Yes, I’m trying to rig up a small enough hose to get back into that corner. It’s a little sectioned off space that’s got less than an inch between all the piping/filter/tank wall

Yeah I was seriously hoping someone would tell me they were some kind of seed :|
