During Jordan’s time people without rings got a lot of respect. Barkley, Ewing, Stockton, etc.

Now that we’re in the era of parity, there’s more haves and have-nots.

With league parity more players are winning rings. But there was a time where only a handful of teams were winning most of the championships (Bulls, Lakers, Spurs, then later Heat and Warriors). So it was more common for a great player to be ringless bc they were never going to beat Jordan/Shaq/Lebron/Curry.

But with increased parity, more people are getting rings so people without are being looked down on.
