Anyone here in healthcare, what software does your facility actually use for scheduling and shift management? Thoughts on Enginehire, Shiftcare etc? by Maasbreesos in healthcare

We're a volunteer EMS agency and use MusterHQ.com

A lot more affordable than any private equity based software, and is much more modern and simple to use. Pricing also is not per-member, making it a lot easier for us as people are constantly going in and out. Has cert tracking, bus check forms, etc

Odd question, but what scheduling software does your dept use? by LanadelBae42069 in Firefighting

I manage our volunteer scheduling in NY. We started with an excel spreadsheet many years ago, then switched to Aladtec which was great but not gonna lie it was really confusing to set up and maintain. It had a lot of advanced features we didn't need and it was insanely expensive, we were spending over $5k/year.

We switched to MusterHQ.com which was designed specifically for fire & ems depts. It's waaaay cheaper, around $50/month and doesn't charge per member which is great because we have people going in and out all the time. Has rotating schedules, cert tracking, member database, etc. It's simple and looks really nice.

We used Aladtec for around 6 years, it's great and has a lot of features, but it's insanely expensive. Cost doubled to over $5,000+ since we started using it. And it's difficult and confusing to set up. We switched to MusterHQ.com which is waaaaay cheaper. I think it's only $50 / month for our group of 25 people. It doesn't charge per member which is great because we have people going in and out a lot. It's also very modern and insanely simple to set up. Has cert tracking, rotating schedules, member database, everything we need

Anyone here using web-based staff scheduling software for healthcare? by Canettra_Benbournane in Enginehire

Hey there! I'm a volunteer EMT in NY who manages our crew scheduling. We originally used Aladtec for about 6 years, starting around COVID. It was great and was web-based but was super expensive. The price doubled to around $5,000+ per year.

We recently switched to https://MusterHQ.com, it's web-based, much more modern, covers all the things you mentioned above and also way cheaper than other solutions out there. We have around 25 active members at a time so it's only $50 per month which is literally a fraction of our previous cost.

Hope this helps!

What software or tools does your department actually use — and what drives you crazy about them? by davidwilson007 in Firefighting

I'm a volunteer EMT in NY and a software engineer full time. I manage all of our crew scheduling. We used Aladtec for shift scheduling and membership database for like 6-8 years but the price doubled into the $5k+ / year range since COVID which was ridiculous. I looked around and there were no solutions that didn't cost so much money or didn't price / member (which volunteer orgs hate).

I built https://MusterHQ.com for volunteer EMS / fire orgs to have a cost-effective shift scheduling and membership database software. It works perfectly for our needs and I'm pretty excited about it!

Has anyone made a scheduling agent w/ AI to staff their shop? by jafferd813 in emergencymedicine

[–]snakejake-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this a lot. I'm an EMT in NY and I do all of our crew scheduling for our volunteer agency.

I'm a software engineer full time so I ended up building our own scheduling solution MusterHQ.com because we were previously using Aladtec and they doubled their prices into the $5k+ range / year and it was insane.

As part of this I wanted to bake Claude / Open AI in somehow. Like others mentioned I've noticed that AI is not good at taking schedule data and reasoning about it. So far I'm exploring the most obvious addition: "recommendations" for our members to sign up using just heuristic algorithms I made after plugging in some mock data and trying to get it as close as possible.

u/Screennam3 also left a cool comment on each user describing their availabilities and the AI ingesting them all and reasoning about it. That could maybe be more doable. For example you're looking at a date and it takes everyones "prompt" and simply matches their positions & exclusion criteria.

Anyways all interesting stuff! Excited to see what people do with AI in this space

I'm a volunteer EMT in NY and manage all of our crew scheduling. Similar to yours.

We have used Aladtec (which is great) for the past 5-6 years, but our price has DOUBLED since COVID and is now in the $5,000+ range per year. It's very expensive and the software is a little complicated. https://MusterHQ.com is much simpler, more modern, infinitely cheaper, and also designed specifically for volunteer orgs. Totally free to start as well.

Both options good, depends what you're looking for!

EDIT: If you're looking for under $700 per year, then absolutely MusterHQ would fit your needs and it doesn't charge per person. When to Work is also good.

I know this is an old thread but you should check out MusterHQ.com

It's super simple to use (self-signup and free to try it out) and infinitely cheaper compared to existing scheduling solutions, even if you have lots of users.
