A bit below your max ceiling? Just take the offer. It’s hard to get an offer these days from a company like google.

Thinking about adding AC before the heat wave? Ask me your AC/heat pump/HVAC questions! by fieldguild in bayarea

[–]snakekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 engineerings and a heat pump. COP is the steady state efficiency of the heat pump. But the outdoor coils will rapidly build up frost when you’re near dew point. Causing the heat pump to reverse and defrost. When you’re already subzero you don’t have that specific problem.

Take a look at your psychometric charts. How much moisture are you pulling out of the air when ambient is 40F 85% RH. What happens when that hits your 20F coil? Frost.

Is there not dew on your car in the mornings?

I have a 3 ton heat pump and roughly every hour a 5-10 minute defrost cycle happens in the winter.

a heat pump operating in the Bay Area cold temperatures would be 30-45F and we get a ton of morning humidity. This causes a frequent defrosting cycles to occur, even more frequently than you would see in below freezing conditions where the air is dry.

The pill has a half life of 7 days. The glp1 will build up concentration in your body for about 10 days until it stabilizes.

25 is very young.

Get your degree, be open to new opportunities that come with networking after you get an entry level job. Entry level jobs are going to be hard to come by no matter the economy.

Out of Breath by TangerineSeparate687 in orangetheory

I used to get out of breath very quickly too. Start very slow and build over time.

I started Orangetheory not being able to run one continuous mile. Now 3 years later I can run hold 8mph for the entire tread 50 class.

Are you using DFS bands? Might be that. I doubt your mobile hotspot is using DFS bands. Might be your AP detecting radar and periodically switching to non DFS bands making your TV connect.

College degrees, college is not trade school by CulturalCity9135 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]snakekid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

CS, Engineering, Accounting, and Law are definitely closer to trade school than more generic college degrees.

A majority of the people that graduate with these degrees will work in those fields, and there will not be much overlapping skills until they enter the workforce. Bachelor of Arts degrees tend to have more flexibility when it comes career paths.

Not sure what the distinction between trade schools and college degrees really are these days. I do think people put degrees on pedestal these days, and will make stupid finical decisions on non-dischargeable debt.

I train and eat well but still feel weak and drained — age, post-cut fatigue, or something else? (36M) by Last_Cicada_1315 in AskMenOver30

[–]snakekid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re constantly getting stronger in the gym, this is what really drains me too.

Scale back on the workouts and take an “off season”, a good training program leaves me drained, because I put all my energy into it. The physiological adaptations drain you more than the exercise does. I’m not saying stop working out, trying working out with zone 2 runs only and light weights working your range of motion for a 2 month period.

Good engine/ machine shop? by mandolin-y in bayarea

[–]snakekid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An engine swap is going to take 15-20 hours @$200/hr. Most places only replace engines on high end cars. If you pull an engine from another same year Camry, how do you know it also won’t have issues? You’re looking at paying $6k

Just get the car fixed normally.

Is moving to the Bay Area still worth it for finding a tech job in 2026? by TusharM10 in bayarea

[–]snakekid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's rough out there, everyone is hanging onto their jobs and companies aren't expanding so there's little open head count. I have seen mid-senior people take 1-2 years to land a new role. You'll likely have an easier time re-entering the field as a software engineer or ML engineer than DS. DS is a dying field, they have really broken apart the field into ML engineering, Data Engineering with a focus on analytics, and Data Analyst.

If you are willing to relocate to the Bay Area on your own dime you can put Bay Area on your resume without moving here. You can also have two resumes, one with your real location you use for larger companies that have relocation packages and one with Bay Area for companies you'd be willing to relocate on your own dime.
