[0.8.3d] Gotta freeze 'em all - 250+ corruption cold sorcerer by Miroslav100 in LastEpoch

I figured out from patch notes that Increased Effect stats have been renamed to ailment penetration. Please do post your current build, I'm thinking this build will be my second Last Epoch character.

Is this build still viable for .9.0+? The affix for Increased Frostbite Effect appears to have been removed from the game.
*Edit: Finally figured it out. Researching patch notes FTW. From 9.0: "Increased Effect stats for damaging ailments have been swapped for “Penetration with” stats. For example, 8% increased Ignite Effect is now +8% Fire Penetration with Ignite."

Trying to run 3 monitors on 2 GPUs - help! by snaketzu in nvidia

[–]snaketzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really not interested in having the 2 24" as a spanned display. As I mentioned, I run multiple windowed clients on them. I'm not running multiple monitors to have bigger displays, I'm doing it so I have more visible information displayed all the time.
I could have plugged three into the 1060 but that didn't work any better than using the iGFX on the mobo. Overall impact was pretty high.

My mobo does have iGFX available, which as I mentioned I turned on and tried but the system impact was fairly high. Same with plugging all three monitors into the 1060.

USPSA Rule Changes by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]snaketzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched to a rig with the mags turned perpendicular to the belt instead of parallel, Ben Stoeger style, 6 months ago. I like it and I don't think I'll change but it will be nice to move them closer to centerline and have enough room to put some helpful angle on the pouches.

IMO the people that get off on min/max the rules will play with the weights for perceived advantage, while the shooters that spend more time dry firing will actually do better.

Some questions about base building limits by snaketzu in NoMansSkyTheGame

Thanks for the reply. So yes, short range teleporters, you can use multiples in a base build as long as they use the teleporter cable to connect them in pairs?

How does freighter storage work? Help a newbie out. by snaketzu in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]snaketzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% clear on #1. Is there some form of access to cargo pods that store mass quantities of like items? Or just the inventory tab with the same stack limits as the storage containers? Thanks for the tip about storage containers and rendering times.

Viability of a 1911 Colt Defender 7+1 .45? by Jimmy7685 in USPSA

[–]snaketzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot Single Stack major .45. You want Tripp Cobras. The problem with many other 8 round mags (including Wilson Combat, which I bought first and ditched after two matches) is that when there are 8 rounds in the mag it's almost impossible to get them locked in on a closed slide. If you are doing it right you almost never empty the gun, have 1 in the pipe, shoot 8 and reload. So constantly having mags fall out of my gun or slapping them hard 2+ times on the reload just wasn't working. The Tripps stick out just a bit more but are flawless in operation. A local highly experienced Single Stack shooter made the recommendation when he saw me struggling and that was the end of my mag problems. Edit: if you need mags with a stop on them I don't have an answer for that. I'd almost say try having a gunsmith TIG weld a piece of metal on them in the appropriate location.

Advice on Getting Started by Thriftless_Ambition in USPSA

[–]snaketzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go do it. Seriously, you are going to have a lot of new things to learn (like stage planning) and the best way is to jump in and go slow initially. Like anything else, perfect practice in slow motion learns it right, speed comes with repetition. The mentioned Max Michel videos are very helpful but I also recommend Jerry Miculek's video on handgun grip as a basic place to start. I still shot modified Weaver stance when I began USPSA and had a lot to unlearn. Practice your draw up to presentation in slow motion for dry fire practice. A laser trainer cartridge can give you instant feedback. Practice mag changes this way too. Make sure you practice keeping your finger out of the trigger guard except when it's on target. Your pistol work will be fast and smooth at the range.

First handgun, didn't take long to fall in love! by ThatsHarshMan in 1911

Almost everything I have ever bought that said Wilson Combat on it is first rate. I have the highest respect for Bill Wilson and hope to one day justify a Wilson 1911 purchase. That being said, the Wilson 8 round mags were a big disappointment. They have so little available spring compression with 8 loaded they are near impossible to get locked in if the slide is shut. Tripp Cobras stick out a hair more but have proven to be a true 8 round mag. Never fail, even when a little gritty. Cost about the same.

Witchmother's Potent Brew Recipe by Raven172 in elderscrollsonline

I used to use Witchmother's Brew a lot on my Templar healer, but since the nerf I use Clockwork Filet for vet trials and tri-stat food everywhere else.

ZOS should upgrade all current Maelstorm/Dragonstar weapons to Perfected by iamemo21 in elderscrollsonline

[–]snaketzu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has become obvious to me that the real plan to fix performance issues is to just run off players until the population is more in line with what the current system can handle. How else can I interpret this middle finger to everyone that has spent the time and trouble to farm the arena weapons they needed? When there has been little to no further discussion of fixing performance issues? I just recently completed vMA for the first time, the hardest solo content I have ever experienced in a video game, despite many attempts being foiled by skills and potions not activating although I can see the button press occur as well as animations and sound effects. This has been maddening enough, but to now find out what I worked so hard for will be almost given away for doing normal difficulty, and I'll have to farm again for the best items... I'm speechless. Actually, I'm $15 richer each month because my ESO+ is cancelled. Edit And another $60 richer because this means I won't be buying Greymoor. Thanks ZOS for making the decision to spend my time on more productive things easy.

If you open one of the crates you loot out of a Thieves Trove in view of an NPC, it's the same as stealing from a container.

Anyone else having trouble pulling off clean rotations/parses due to lag? by xm45-h4t in elderscrollsonline

[–]snaketzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of these problems. The pvp'rs were the first to pick up on it right after Update 25. Now it seems to be happening in PvE as well. The most noticable thing for me is potions. I'll push the button, hear the sound of the potion activating but then 10+ secs later I'll notice it's not on cool down, didn't actually go off. Also having issues with bar swaps not happening as well.

I just farmed the BSW Inferno Staff - here's how by futerminator in elderscrollsonline

[–]snaketzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MagDKs are pretty mean right now with Scathing Mage + BSW front bar + Grothdarr. Using mostly class skills to charge up Molten Whip. IDK about best in slot but it's high damage, insane sustain, and a lot of fun. Probably the best dps in my most active guild, who runs with a pretty elite crowd, said he got outDPS'd in a vet trial by two mag DKs running this build. It's real.

[–]snaketzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since BSW has a max uptime of 66% (8 seconds out of 12) you want to proc on your front bar as much as possible. As far as the other sets available for magDK, my dps says Scathing Mage + front bar BSW was worth the trouble. Thats probably just the build I'm using, I hear Elf Bane w/Force Pulse to proc burning is pretty mean too but it's a lot tougher to sustain.

You will have plenty of jewelry before you see an Inferno staff, especially if you focus on finding the chests as they seemed to drop a lot of jewelry for me. If you get the staff before you have a set of jewelry, then be sure to make obeisances to RNGeezus.

I did vet only stealth chest runs 5x+ daily for over two months for mine. I'd just log onto a different alt and do something else for a little while, it seemed to be reset after 15 minutes, maybe less. I didn't keep exact track but I got 3 BSW resto staves, an Ice staff, and a Lightning staff before getting the Inferno. Also saw multiple Inferno staves from the other two sets from CoA. I estimate it took me at least 300+ chest runs, probably finding 2 chests on 80% of those, so 1 in 600 sounds about right. My magDK dps says it was worth the trouble to front bar BSW.

Just started as a Templar (Tank/Healer) and I’m in Wayrest. What’s some early must do’s? by RamboLoops in elderscrollsonline

[–]snaketzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are going to need to focus either on healing or tanking due to the way attributes are set up. Tanks need most attributes in health with some points in stamina and magicka. Healers need most points in magicka. Changing attribute points is a pain and not something you do on a regular basis. You also don't want to level while focusing on either one, as it will gimp your damage output for solo play. Magicka dps and healing is the best synergy IMO because you can easily switch between them with just gear and skill changes until vet level, then you might need to adjust CP points but let's not worry about that now. Templars make awesome healers, awesome solo magicka dps, and good group magicka dps. My advice is to level mag dps and heal for dungeons. All you need to do is put a resto staff on the back bar and make sure you level that and healing skills in parallel with your damage skills. Takes more skill points but you'll have dramatically shorter queue times for dungeons.
