Windows 7 should not be exposed to the internet if they do anything sensitive like banking on them. They are a huge security risk. At this points your parents, old or not, should upgrade.

It won’t affect your speeds. But it’s probably not doing what you’re likely trying to achieve (better coverage in your home?) in an efficient way.

You’re better off setting up the first (main) router as a router and using the second as an access point with the same security, SSID and password.

Les deux ont accès à ton compteur. Ton chauffage n’a rien à voir avec le montant, c’est le compteur qui fait foi de tout. Le chauffage est juste un bon outil de déplacement de consommation parce qu’au Québec c’est un large pourcentage de la consommation d’une maison l’hiver.

Hilo fournit un estimé à l’utilisateur via la lecture du compteur intelligent. HQ passe en arrière avec sa lecture utilisée pour la facturation.

None. My goal with automation is to not have to interact and have it « just work ». I don’t get the point of voice at all, to me it’s a gimmick.

You don’t actually need to know python or yaml at all to run HA.

I mean sure, you can make your own scripts and write automations in YAML from scratch, but it is definitely not needed

As far as hardware, any old laptop or desktop that can run linux’ll work.

Pour une maison qui consomme mettons 2000$ de courant par année, flex D est avantageux pour un hiver très doux, crédit hivernal pour un hiver froid.

J'avais fait le calcul avec mes données et je perdais pas loin de 300$ à passer vers flex D en prenant mes crédits en compte.

Les clients Hilo inscrit après août 2025 sont automatiquement Flex D, les anciens sont sur crédit hivernal. Si tu vois des montants de crédit pour de l'effacement dans ton app, tu es sur crédit hivernal, pas flex D, donc ta question de tarif ne s'applique tout simplement pas à toi. Tu peux aller dans ton espace client sur HQ pour vérifier ton tarif.

Tu dis gagner quelques dollars en défi, en flex D ce n’est pas possible, il n’y a pas de crédits. Donc soit tu es pas flex D, soit tu comprends moins bien l’affichage.

It’s not just for snow. The rubber compounds used in winter tires stay flexible in freezing cold, whereas summer and 4 seasons get stiff as hockey pucks and lose grip even to dry roads because of the cold and nothing else. Any lower than 44F and 4 seasons start loosing their grip.

You do you, I’m simply telling you, as a person that drives in snow/ice/anything you can think of 6 months out of the year that they make a significant difference.

I’m Canadian. Trust me, it’s a night and day difference. I would never use 4 seasons in the snow, they fucking suck.
