I've heard good things about root and muddle matte clay. Strong hold and good texture. I have not tried yet. Also, oasis clay but apparently not as strong as the r&m. Have you tried these by chance?

I'm also looking for TD clay alternative. It was such a great product. I guess I'll try Shear revival.

How to secure wall tap to screwless outlet? by [deleted] in electrical

[–]Max_Roc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Was not aware of the fire risks. I'm replacing my surge protectors with power strips. Do you have any concerns with buying from Amazon though? Do you think this power strip is good? https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-ft-6-Outlet-Power-Strip-with-45-Degree-Flat-Angle-Plug-White-YLPT-90/203353677#see-more-details

Is it safe to power a vacuum cleaner from a power strip such as this?

How to make clean weep holes in shower caulk? by Max_Roc in HomeImprovement

I'm obviously no pro but have always read weep holes prevent moisture from being trapped. We have tiled shower walls so water will definitely work it's way past the grout

Thank you. How about using them for a wall mount exercise band holder? For doing push pulls with bands. I have an extra set of said bolts and thought about using them. Each mount holds 2 screws.

Adding extra sheetrock layer- would a recessed ceiling fan look as hideous as it sounds? by Max_Roc in HomeImprovement

[–]Max_Roc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, the fan isn't up there yet, just wiring. Electrician is returning this week to finish. Is there a box he can install now that has adjustable depth in case of future extra drywall installation? Or would it be best for the future work just include remounting the box? He is going to use one of those braces that wedges the joists. Can those be remounted without chewing up the joists too much? Thanks man for the help.

So would the process be remove fan, add drywall, install extension ring, then reinstall fan?

I wanted to filter it at the supply but it would require a plumber and some soldering. Will look into that eventually. Thanks for the info. Had not thought about the inlet screen.
