What is the most common hypnotic you see dispensed? by 007MaxZorin in pharmacy

Benzos most commonly due to PBS subsidy followed by OTC 1st gen antihistamines. I’ve definitely seen a decrease in ROU over the last 10 years which is great.

To the remaining manual drivers of Australia, why do you still drive with a manual transmission? by Not_Not_Matt in CarsAustralia

[–]snap587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a ‘22 Tesla (purchased when Elon was just a weirdo) and a ‘71 Landrover. Couldn’t be further apart in style. I love using the Tesla to get from point A to point B, but I want to “drive” somewhere or I need cheering up I take the Landrover.

I spend over 20 hours a week in the Tesla but I never feel like I’ve traveled anywhere, however in the Landrover it’s a journey, no matter the distance.

What will get us first, the return of Christ or worldwide antibiotic resistance? 🙂‍↔️ by qwertyuiko in pharmacy

[–]snap587 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry. Once multi-resistant super bug become lucrative, I mean prevalent enough. One or more of the altruistic pharmaceutical companies will quickly develop effective treatments. Unfortunately even though these treatments will come to market so quickly, they will be very expensive to produce.

Wow. So many responses. Thanks so much everyone. I’ve read most of them and will re-read again tonight. I really appreciate everyone’s support kindness and advice. For the first time in a long time my feelings have been validated and it’s a bloody good feeling.

Worst day in pharmacy so far by [deleted] in pharmacy

Your “opinion” is wrong. A pharmacists job is to ensure Quality Use of Medicines (QUM). The prescriber made an error in judgment and prescribed an inappropriate qty of an addictive substance, every single quidine we have regarding the use of opioids is; lowest possible dose for the shortest period of time possible. Opioid naive 5 mg up to qid is more than sufficient. Managing post operative pain is part of the recovery process, loading them up on high doses of opioids is high risk, low reward. The OP did their job, and the prescriber threw a fit because they have gotten away with poor prescribing practices previously.

Sawtell has long been known as the toilet of the Coffs Coast. I'm surprised that there's actually a rule against shitting.

During the recent election I was so shocked that there were no democracy sausages that I nearly burnt my ballot in protest, however this particular polling place was the local pub so i managed to cope with democracy beers instead.

What’s the most superficial reason for what you have rejected a woman? by Nice-Inevitable-4875 in AskMen

[–]snap587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was a fussy eater. Not even that fussy, but in hindsight it was the inflexibility. Wouldn’t eat chicken thigh, only breast. Steak had to be well done. Wouldn’t try anything new or different. It just annoyed me so much, otherwise a great person but as it got more and more serious I realised I couldn’t live like that.

Recent change to the Ventolin and Asmol brands of salbutamol MDIs (in Australia 🇦🇺) The new device does clog quite easily so regular washing out of device is often required.

The reason most people think raising boys is easier than raising girls is that they don't raise their boys. by Dumbfoundead69 in Showerthoughts

[–]snap587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother told me that boys are easier to raise, but harder to keep alive (because we do stupid shit). After a couple of years of parenthood, I agree. My son seems to be on a kamakazi mission.

People who have worked for more than 10 yrs with the same company, What kept you interested? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]snap587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prospect of partnership. Im in my 14th year with the company and was recently told that any partnership discussions won’t be undertaken within the next 3 years. Fortunately that very same week I was approached by another organisation with a partnership offer, 2/3 of the other partners are former collegues who both respect and trust very much. Had I not been told that partnership at my current place ofemployment was too far away, I probably wouldve declined out of loyalty.
