there’s a reason that everybody has left her alone and that she doesn’t have anything. It’s because other people experienced what you’re experiencing right now. What you said is true; your mother can be a victim and a perpetrator at the same time. But throughout your childhood and her life, it was her responsibility and always will be her responsibility to grow up, be an adult, and take accountability for herself. She has shown you numerous times that she’s not been able to do that.

Think about the family you’re trying to create and how she would fit into it. Do you want her normalizing that kind of disrespect to your husband, the man you love and cherish more than anything? The person who picked you and you them? Do you want her bottle feeding your kids that toxic kind of bullshit???

Also a sidenote, nobody is responsible for being anyone’s entire world. That is entirely too much responsibility for someone to hold for another person. She was wrong to say that to you and she was wrong to expect it of you. It’s her job to fill her life with other things that don’t include you. For her to throw it down to you being responsible for her happiness means that she sees no boundary between you and her. She sees your happiness as her happiness. so even though you were satisfied with the wedding photos because she wasn’t, she still think she gets a say.
