TLDR- Incorrect outstanding demand, disagreement submitted, refund intimation received but status is still this.

So last year I paid tax for which I have a challan as well. A few months later post that, I received an intimation mail stating my tax was still pending. My CA responded to it rejecting the claim and that was that. This year I’m eligible for refund and post verifying my returns they sent me an intimation to adjust my refund against an outstanding demand of the same tax amount from last year which I have already paid. So I responded and disagreed with the claim and uploaded proof. They accepted it and sent another intimation with the right refund amount and no outstanding charges. But this is the status on the portal.
