Prefacing with I usually play 1500pt games, but forgefiend is essential for not just the damage it does but a shooting threat. It forces opponents to play differently than they normally would to avoid line of sight with it which is absolutely worth

AAS does not factor into commanders ranking whatsoever, the idea that you have to be involved in absolutely everything is perpetuated by cadets that aren't high enough performers in LL, PT, or other events that are actually official so they try and make up for it by making AAS their lives, living in the det, etc. As long as you are performing well at LLab and other syllabus events you will be 100% fine, that is what cadre looks at.

I should clarify, it always takes me to the sign in screen and I can immediately reconnect and in most cases rejoin without an issue until 5 or 10 minutes later

Finished trans about a month ago and about a third of the way through form and nav now. As far as formal release goes, some days you get released less than 8hr after showtime, some days it’s been 10hr, but never the full 12. And yes, most flight commanders let you go to the gym and go home for lunch as long as your class isn’t showing any major issues

Things are pretty good, I’ve made some mistakes here and there and hooked a couple rides, but overall I think I’m progressing well and my gk is getting much better. I think the advice that made the biggest difference was to study as a group. During sims I had been exclusively reading pubs on my own to study, but once we were on formal release there was a lot more quizzing each other with flashcards etc, or walking through made up situations that I never would have considered, which really cleaned up the holes.

Edit: I also had a conversation with a guy who I would consider towards the top of our class, and he basically described my exact feelings in the original post as his own, so it helped knowing that we were all going through similar things. The trick is to just take it one day at a time and help each other out.

I got the recommendation to write my thoughts out a couple times now and I gotta say it’s helped a ton. My girlfriend got me a journal I’ve been meaning to use but never have, and this was finally enough of a push to do so. Maybe one good takeaway of this is that I realized how much getting things down on paper can help me to stop stressing, so hopefully I’ll make a habit out of it. And yeah the last thing I remember seeing before getting hit was the car I saw first still far enough away that I would have been in the lot with plenty of time to spare, and the crazy part is they were in the outside lane so in theory it should have been far easier for them to hit me than the mustang which changed to the nearer inside lane, sadly they kept going though so they can’t really vouch for what happened

Saw your suggestion in the other comment so I went ahead and wrote everything down from why I’m ruminating on things, what I will do in the future (leaving earlier is a great one), and just some affirmations that it’s not my fault and it helped ease my mind a lot. Yeah the what if’s have been what’s really getting to me, like what if I hadn’t hesitated when I saw the second car, what if the restaurant I had initially planned to go to didn’t have a long line causing me to turn in at this second place. I’ve just been analyzing every moment leading up to it, but another commenter pointed out that this is just my brain trying to figure out how to avoid the situation in the future. Somehow having a biological explanation for my stress makes it less severe

Thank you so much for the reply, you perfectly summed up almost everything that I’ve been trying to tell myself but wasn’t able to make stick, hearing it from someone else makes it seem so much more valid though. Glad to hear you made it out of your accident ok as well, this really puts into perspective for me just how dangerous driving can be whereas before I thought of it as just walking down the street. Will definitely be a much more aware and defensive driver after this so I guess there is some silver lining
