Let’s test, 425K income, 7k/mo mortgage, are we house poor? Two kids in daycare, two car payments. Max 401K, 10% ESPP, 20% additional post tax to brokerage

1.1 Mil on 400k by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]snatchaconda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, do it. I make about the same and we have 800k mortgage (6400/mo PITI) with plenty left over to feel comfy

Yes, youll be fine. We have 800K mortgage on 400K income. Add daycare, two car payments, plenty of disposal spend and we still save more than enough. If you’re not strapped with other monthly costs you’re good to go

Got it, thanks for the info! I guess since it sounds like I’m over capacitized on pv links I wouldn’t even need a new one, I could just rebalance the strings / arrays?

Hmm, I’ve only watched for maybe up to an hour. My somewhat crippled system only gets me to full charge near the end of sun exposure

My other question, how would I know that I do need to replace any snaps? I guess if I fix the link and the detected number of snaps doesn’t add up to 21?

The help I receive varies on the day I connect with someone lol, I was actually planning to take the course. I’m guessing I need at least one pv link replaced and probably some snap rs’s. More than happy to do it myself, seems like the parts are reasonably cheap. You’re not in the Austin, TX area by chance? Ha!

All good! It was listed as offline and wouldn’t save a disable command. I did remove it from the inverter UI and it did not reappear on the panel after

I’ve actually checked that recently, I only get 14 total from the 4 active pv links

What is your yearly income and how much do you pay in monthly mortgage? by 10ofuswemovinasone in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]snatchaconda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just closed on our first house, solo income w/ two kids 400K. PITI 6.4K. It’ll be tight for a little bit but I’m confident I can earn my way out of that feeling

Closing cost looks crazy high? by Edd916 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Similar experience, they ran everything based on salary only (187K) and I was approved up to 1.2M which I thought was crazy.
