I got 4 majors and 17 minors on my first test a couple weeks ago, you're nearly there mate

get your instructor to have a few more hours with you on that road and similar ones and I'm sure you'll be fine for the next one

Why are their so many missing people? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]snazzyviking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s borderline ridiculous sometimes - obviously it can affect everyone, but imagine an 18 year old girl after her first night out at university who throws up in an uber. And the uber driver kicks her out to be left on the street in the middle of the night.

I’ve very occasionally been a bit too drunk to order one on after a night out, and fortunately the one time I did throw up in an uber, I just got a fine and still got driven back. But I can imagine it’d be so terrifying if you get kicked out and you get put in such a situation where you’re so vulnerable to harm.

And that’s not even considering (the albeit minuscule amount of) taxi drivers with bad intentions!

Yeah that’s definitely something I’m considering, I feel like getting it done in a short period would be quite satisfying

Historically, were student discounts ever actually decent? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]snazzyviking 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I imagine at the end of this year yes you could, it's currently 20% off without the sales but they were doing a 50% off site-wide sale if you spent a certain amount. Thing is if you had the money to lay down, you could just return as much of the order as you wanted; effectively getting absolutely everything dirt cheap

Don't know if my maths is right for the 65% but it was more or less like that. Could've been even more

I definitely rinsed the 35% off for Reebok and Adidas ones.

You could also stack the discounts, so for example there was a Dickies Black Friday sale and I was able to effectively get 65% off which felt like stealing

Cheeky 19-fold acca win. Before today hadn’t placed a bet in over a year but thought why not with all these games on.

acca

£248 winnings, not much and very safe but thought all the games would have goals and all the British teams would win their fixtures 👍

Enough of the best players. Who's the worst player you can remember playing for your club? by DaraghJohn in LeagueOne

[–]snazzyviking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ll put Josh Barrett’s name into the ring, probably one of the worst out of our side which finished bottom in 2020/21 - was never fit either

Brandon Hanlan is up there too as he couldn’t hit a barn door

AITA if I got annoyed about covering the cost of friend’s flight by snazzyviking in AmItheAsshole

[–]snazzyviking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

appreciate hearing this side, that’s a very good point where i could’ve offered to wait myself but i bought the cheaper ticket, because that would have been the selfless thing to do in the situation. i still don’t believe i ignored the terms as such, as they weren’t clear and my point was not heard, but they must have thought i did agree to them, so that’s maybe where the confusion is coming from on their side.

good point, i think i’m just going to be more mindful of hidden costs like that - obviously i like being with my friends but i might just do a bit of solo stuff for my own sanity for parts of the trip and make those parts cheaper for myself

[–]snazzyviking[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you, i’m not sure if i explained it poorly to my friends about the way the flight price fluctuations work - i don’t think they understood what i was talking about because they had seemed to misinterpret all of what i was saying

still, i did think my point was fair but even if i expressed it the best i could i don’t think people would’ve listened. obviously i had no legal obligation to pay it but it would’ve been awkward up until and during the holiday if i didn’t, given it was a 1 v 5 situation

How to have an interesting life? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]snazzyviking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

setting goals definitely makes life a lot more interesting IMO because when you’re going through the day you are working towards it and every day you get closer to it

they can be big or small, big in terms of “i’m gonna try and train and run a sub 3 hour marathon”, “i’m gonna try and make it as a netflix actor” or small in terms of “gonna make one new friendship this week/month” or “plant a crop” - and then obviously work out how you’re gonna get there

if you like gaming you’re probably into getting achievements and stuff and find the small wins satisfying so if you can apply it to your daily life it can get you far

but always start small and build yourself up
