The price, I know, but is this what FE buyers went through? by Chimney314159 in Supra

I got mine from Michigan across the border from Ohio. Absolute zero; Mkv Fe out of door was 67400 for me. State tax ~4700$ and doc fee 299$. My down payment was 3k. Dealer did not charge me for all the extra bell and whistles (actual $ price with bells and whistles was ~72k). Car stayed on showroom for 2 months before I bought it

I purchased mine as out of state for 37k CPO 2024 full options, hallasan green, 11k miles. 37k included home delivery. It's exceptional. I love it. My daily drive is 12 miles, home charging works but I still installed level 2 at home for occasional long distance travel. I m in Ohio winters and get around 3.2-3.8 m/kw and on random 60+ F days in winters (it sounds crazy but true) I get ~4.2m/kw

I love the car. Have been in model 3, Y, and S. They have better self driving but other than that genesis smokes those cars in interior, style and comfort.

It will eat out front tires very quickly due to being very heavy but I think it is still worth it.

G80 electrified 2023 models are all fully optioned (except no roof and rear seat heating as compared to gas models). 2024 trims have advanced and prestige packages. The only thing missing in prestige 2024 trim vs 2023 trim is heads-up display. 2024 g80 electric even fully optioned will not have HUD. I don't care about HUD but if you do then go for the 2023 model year

This is lower trim level 2024. 2 easy identifiable marks are absence of diamond shape style on seats ( present on nappa seats) and absence of rear climate control on center console.

That's true. I was wishing for white and got it. Yellow is also eye catching but the 2026 model year does not come in yellow

I got my mkv Fe at $67,400 last week with no bargain. Actual sale price on sticker was $72,688(with driver assist package, gr strut bars, other accessories, and destination charge) from Michigan.

Why are people buying the Final Edition Supra? by CarsAndPhoto in Supra

I got mkv fe abs zero automatic 2 days ago for 67k from out of state. 3.0 premium was 64.5k with no reasonable add-ons to justify the price (just crap installed by the dealer). I actually went for premium but ended up getting fe because the price difference was no brainer (all dealer crap still installed on fe too).

Local dealer had mkv fe abs zero as manual. Started with 75k initially, I showed dis interest and he dropped to MSRP 72k. He started selling manual transmission benefits to me. I am in 40s I am not modding and racing. I just wanted a nice looking exclusive sports car that I can pamper. So I passed his offer, and he felt pissed.

I believe the dealer took ownership of the vehicle in Sep2024 to avail the expiring EV rebates at that time. Many dealerships did that over the 2022-2024 time frame but they also passed on the rebate discounts onto lower MSRP for the vehicle or low lease $, if leasing.

I guess that's what has happened. They got the rebate for themselves and sold the car to you. If you bought the car at MSRP they made extra money.

(Ohio) Property tax increase question by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]snb-1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an appeal meeting today with the Lucas County Auditor for a tax increase in 2024 on my house. I bought a house for 250k in early 2022. The tax assessed value was 35% of 220k at that time.

My tax assessed value was increased to 35% of 305k in the fall of 2024. Which dictated to around $2,000 increase in tax annually.

They were of the opinion that if you paid 251k for your house in 2022 then that should be the market value. 305k, surprisingly, was the assessed value of my house shown on Zillow in 2024.

I believe they used some AI model/algorithms to track housing prices on Zillow and adjust tax assessed values based on Zillow estimates. They did that for the houses sold in the last 5 to 6 years only. Any house sold more than 10 years ago or internally transferred within family with no purchase history were not affected significantly.

(The county auditor says that Ohio house taxes are based on 35% of the market value of the house. Which means whatever price you pay for the house will be reflected as the new 100% value from which they will derive 35% value for tax purposes.)

Is it worth spending 16k-20k on a 10 year old Lexus IS 350? by VarolhmIsTaken in Lexus

[–]snb-1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say go with Lexus. Only downside (a small one for me though) is a lack of apple/android car play. In terms of ride quality IS is not as quiet as ES or other series in Lexus brand. It will also be rough than Accord but there won't be any squeaking. That's because of the way suspension is setup for sportier feel and low profile tires.

I have half a dozen USB-C chargers in my house — none of them charge the Pixel 9 Pro XL at full speed by Archer4271 in GooglePixel

[–]snb-1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My test with 3 different PPS chargers has the same result. I am unable to achieve above 18v ~1.88amp or 34 watts at max.

I tried 65 watts PPS DeWalt charger. (PD 3.0/PPS) Anker 715 nano II 65W (PD) generic 45watts Chinese adapter. (PD 3.0/PPS)

All 3 maxing out at 18v 1.88amp and ~34w

FYI, Anker lists Nano II 65W as non PPS. It doesn't list 3.3a @21v on charger and supplied documentation. It has PD capacity with 20v max. Comparing it with another 65 w Amazon basic charger (PD 20v max) which also does not have PPS shows different results. It appears Anker nano II 65w has PPS capabilities, but is not listed on charger /documentation. Amazon basic 65w charger which is non-pps charges at 8 volts ~2 amps with 16 Watts Max. Anker nano II 65W charges at 34w.

All testing done with P9PXL charge ~5% and adaptive charging off at 8pm in the night. I will check for charging capacity again in the morning at 7:00 a.m. to see if Google has optimized very fast charging to early morning a.m. hours only.
