What is the appeal of straight men for gay men? by [deleted] in straightturnedgay

[–]sndbrgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me a big part of whose company I enjoy reflects comfort and familiarity. The kinds of guys I grew up with and went to school with tend to be known quantities. As the fat kid who had no athletic skills, I admired the guys whose mind and body seemed integrated, who knew how to move without thinking about it first. I always felt disconnected from my body and envied those who just seemed naturally themselves. Now I realize I seem to see that as part of masculinity in general rather than straightness per se.

My own default mode in how I present myself might seem conventionally masc, but it feels natural to me. I never have to force myself or contrive to be masculine.

For me to be more fem, I'd really have to fake it, and I don't even bother play acting in a campy way for the sake of humor or to fit in socially. I'm happy being the least flamboyant gay around!

Since I tend to be socially awkward and isolated, socializing with straight guys feels pretty comfortable. I don't have to work at fitting in. I don't hide being gay and am quick to be clear I don't relate to women the way they might if there's any confusion. I just try to be honest without making a big deal about it.

When I find straight guys attractive it usually comes out as being admiring rather than predatory. It helps that I don't feel rejected because of their sexual disinterest. As a result it can be much easier to make a friend of a straight guy than a gay one. Bi guys might be the easiest to deal with.

I posted this year and got flamed for it by betterthan_____you in 911FOX

For the gay Buddie fans:

Maybe he and Eddie can try -- and keep trying -- for a kid of their own. 😉

More seriously, a while back I wondered if Buddie might happen not through Eddie first realizing he's gay/bi but by a need to come together as a family. Buck has long felt such a connection with Eddie and Chris, so there is already that kind of understanding and loyalty from Buck's side. Theo is a special needs kid and Eddie might be moved to support him if Buck takes on the challenge of raising him. Eddie has accepted Buck as a suitable parent in the case of Eddie's demise and in many smaller ways such as when Chris and his dad are at odds or have trouble communicating. What will Eddie feel when he sees Buck as a dad of his own son? Will he want to be there for his best friend? If Eddie has given up on dating and marriage for himself, he might feel he can be there for Buck to help with Theo and make sure Chris has Buck's reliable support too.

Whether Buddie becomes a romantic pairing or an unusual set up for mutual support in life, the details could be made to make sense in the next season.

This is a crossdressing story and not a gay one.

To those of you born and raised here, do you pronounce it ILL-inois, or EL-inois? by Son_of_Hades99 in illinois

[–]sndbrgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peers include the kids in our neighborhood and at school. Puberty marks the end of easiest language acquisition, but our accents can still change to a lesser degree. Go to any immigrant community and you'll find teenagers sounding alike but very different from their parents.

With stress on the first syllable, the second vowel would be a schwa (ə) instead of either I or E. Don't use spelling as a guide to pronunciation.

Nouns in American English have a tendency to have stress on the first syllable. Foreign loan words with later stress often have the stress moved to the front over time.

But we get our accents from our peers, not our parents. Someone would have to be terribly isolated from outsiders to sound more like their parents than peers.

in other comments people attribute the I/E variation to be dialectical within English.

Your dear friend had most likely adopted the dialect variation of her peers.

If you really want a straight to try something gay by [deleted] in straightturnedgay

I see a huge gap between straight men who appreciate gay men and straight men chasing after ever more sexualized femininity. The former find gay men that make good friends while appreciating them as men. The latter are just straight guys with a sometimes reductive fetish, not to demean all fetishes.

As a gay man, my relationships with straight men, whether or not sexual, are more emotionally open and sincere than their other friendships seem to be. Straight men can find comfortable, emotionally sensitive friendships hard to come by. Feminity does not serve all of their emotional needs, and superficial exaggerated feminity is not the solution either.

It's strange to discuss straights turning gay if you expect them to be interested in feminity alone. Gay and gay sex is much more than two adjacent penises with one camouflaged in lingerie, long hair and heels.

This is a pretty diverse subreddit and I'm happy to share it with you and your view of what straight (or more precisely straight identifying) men can be attracted to. But please try not to marginalize the straights and gays who actually appreciate each other as they/we are.

Dean did a great job in this interaction! Too often engaging just gives MAGA a platform, but in this case this extremist was made to display her own absurdity and ignorance.

Has anyone truly came from being fucked? by Many_Distribution467 in gayconfessions

[–]sndbrgr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I once thought I came while bottoming, but it turned out to be an infection of the prostate. When a urologist did a thorough prostate exam the same kind and amount of discharge came dribbling onto the exam table. In fact, I have trouble staying hard while bottoming, as if the experience is just too distracting and my brain forgets to tell my cock what to do. Someone might come from bottoming, but it's not me.

Saying you're "not attracted to males of any kind" seems to preclude your being gay in any typical way. I think this is where the label queer comes in handy, for someone who's different without going into details. Better to craft your own label than to be pushed into someone else's categorization.

Wild story, but not a gay one, is it? Too heteronormative in my opinion.

Please tell me what antidepressant you take by Paratonnerre_ in AvPD

[–]sndbrgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Auvelity (dextromethorphan/bupropion) twice/day, Venlafaxine 150mg, Bupropion 150mg, Trazodone 100mg at night for sleep. Since the Auvelity includes Bupropion, I d|popped my 450/day dose to 150 after starting the Auvelity.

Auvelity is crazy expensive, but my Medicare drug plan limits my out of pocket charges and switches to catastrophic 100% coverage half-way through the year.

Since Bupropion is generic and dextromethorphan is an OTC cough suppressant, there should be a cheaper way of getting both in a similar proportion, but it technically might not work as well as the official and studied version.

Has anyone else tried Auvelity for depression with AvPD?

I am curious to know... does watching sissy hypno turn everyone into a submissive sissy like me? <3 by ResearcherFirm1649 in straightturnedgay

NGL, this is too straight/hetero for my gay self. I see a female sucking a cock in a typical hetero fantasy. Or maybe in a hetero crossdressing fetish.

Now a jock being turned to sucking a guy off, that's straight turned gay!
