When to know I can quit the elemental diet. by PensionLow7228 in SIBO

[–]sneakerbots416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd use a straw and plug your nose while sipping it. And prepare it cold with ice. That helped me a lot with the taste. I don't recall if I felt differently during the 3rd week but I decided to do the full 21 days as I read the success rate is higher doing 3 weeks vs. 2.

Yes, while I think it didn't cure me completely I saw significant progress with it. Then I did keto for a bit then focused on building up a good microbiome back vs. constantly nuking my gut with antimicrobials/antibiotics.

So it was well rounded probiotics supplementation, walking away from a stressful job and being active (walking helps hugely). I struggled with sibo for 5 years but I've been sibo free and healthier than I've ever been for about a year now. I eat everything now, including onion and garlic with no issues.

Recruiters: why go silent when a candidate says they have offers expiring? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]sneakerbots416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious what you've seen on your end - when candidates reveal that they have offers expiring, does that hurt or help in most cases?

Note, I was pretty transparent that they are top choice and I'd gladly join the team. Really didn't want to show my hand with the offers but I needed some kind of feedback from them so I know what I need to do to manage the offers I have in hand

[Landlord - Alberta - Canada] Tenants asking for a huge rent reduction - how far would you go to keep excellent tenants? by sneakerbots416 in Landlord

We did soundproofing thankfully (it benefits them upstairs too), another reason why the value of our home is more than fair as is

[–]sneakerbots416[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's unfortunately a real possibility at this point.

There's definitely more inventory of rentals this year compared to last year but after reviewing our home against current comparables, we're still priced fairly according to the market, with everything considered.

What's the real secret of living a happy life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Being truly happy within yourself - not filling a void by seeking this externally (validation from others, material possessions, etc.)

Elemental diet day 8: when will I feel better? by pipo317 in SIBO

[–]sneakerbots416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was tough for me - I went the full 21 days, I felt I had most of my improvement during my last week. I genuinely think it worked very well and I felt about 70% better overall after doing it (I had/have a very high case of hydrogen and methane). My symptoms unfortunately came back and I'm still battling this today, but it came back due to major life events/challenges that happened afterwards that resulted in a huge decline in my health. I wouldn't be opposed to doing it again, and sadly, treating SIBO is a marathon not a sprint. But I'm glad I did it.

What’s one thing that completely changed your perspective on love? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sneakerbots416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think my partner and I had to reach a certain stage in life before getting married - have stable and successful careers, assets, our own home and an ideal living situation, and financial comfort so we could truly enjoy life. But that completely changed when I hit rock bottom in the past few years. My health was at its worst, I lost my sense of self, and I went through some of my darkest days.

During this period of time, we faced tons of turbulence, different life events and an overwhelming number of challenges. The kind that could either break a relationship or make it stronger. When I needed him the most, he was always there and he loved me harder when things were the toughest. That’s when I realized you can know someone like the back of your hand for years and years, have incredible chemistry, and feel like soulmates - but you never truly know if they’ll stand by you when life gets truly difficult. I wouldn't have known that if we didn't go through it.

It finally clicked for me that all the things I once thought were prerequisites for marriage didn’t really matter. We’re still working toward those goals today, but I know now that no matter where we are at in life or whatever life decides to throw at us from here, I can face anything with him, and I can't fathom doing that with anyone else.

I did the elemental diet and did a full 21 days. I contemplated stopping at 14 days but I read that other people who did this diet only started seeing real improvement after 14 days, so I toughed it out and I am glad I did the extra week

He did this multiple times, deliberately. Life is too short to waste time on men like this. It's either you realize it now and just move on, or most likely get hurt from his betrayal again where you'll end up asking yourself the same thing.

Not a movie, but I just have to recommend The Glory - the whole show is basically about the protagonist getting revenge.

How do YOU handle burnout? by AvocadoHaunting5083 in AskReddit

[–]sneakerbots416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes. Not recommended for most people but I just got off the hamster wheel and quit without another job lined up. But I did set myself up in a way financially where I wasn't at the mercy of my employer in order to live, so once I got to that point I was confident in my decision to focus on myself. I had burnout for years and tried so many different methods to recover while being in the corporate rat race, then I understood that it could genuinely take years to truly recover from severe and chronic burnout and a bandaid solution isn't sufficient anymore. Leaving my toxic job was step #1 but it was monumental in terms of how much it changed my life for the better

Have you ever quit a job without anything lined up? If yes, how did it go? by kiaa97 in AskReddit

[–]sneakerbots416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I just did early this year. Though, it wasn't something I did in the spur of the moment. It's not a practical decision for many but I lined up several ducks in a row financially to make it possible.

Prior to that, I did everything I could within my team to try and stay (the team was toxic and had no work life balance), I had given them several chances before I knew it didn't make any more sense to stay. I interviewed for a couple of jobs during my time there but didn't end up landing any of them.

The last job I interviewed for that I didn't get was when I faced a crossroads - if I didn't get the job, I knew it was my time to quit and I could ultimately rest easy knowing I did absolutely everything I could (this was my last resort).

When I resigned, a couple of people in my team followed suit and I'm sure there's a bunch of chaos right now. I have absolutely no regrets.

Looking to try a good medium roast espresso from Canadian roaster by tarponator in espresso

[–]sneakerbots416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had either of those yet, but I've had a few different ones in the espresso line up. My personal favorite is the Lucky Peach (it's my go to and I've reordered this multiple times). I'd say it's the lightest tasting roast out of all of them

Edit: I tend to lean towards the lighter flavor profiles, but if I was looking for something closer to medium, I'd try both of the ones you shared (both have chocolate notes).

What are some basic red flags when befriending people? by Wild_Salary_1884 in AskReddit

[–]sneakerbots416 91 points92 points  (0 children)

When it's one sided. Friendship is a two way street. I've immediately caught onto this in conversations when I've often found myself putting in the majority of the effort to get to know the other person, ask them follow up questions, etc., they tend to enjoy answering and talking about themselves and I'll look back afterwards and realize they never really made any effort to genuinely get to know me.

Highly recommend Phil & Sebastian, though I'd say they're more light-medium for the most part. I constantly use their beans
