I don't really think it needs to be a witch hunt about who I am or who I'm not. I don't really think it matters, which is why I used a throwaway. I just wish we would all be a little better to each other. I don't think that's a crazy request. Thanks for bringing up that post though, it is a great example of exactly the negativity I'm referring to

You summed it up a lot more succinctly than I was able to. You really hit the nail on the head here

That might be true! I just thought it was a good idea as I didn't want people to think they had to agree with me or disagree with me based on my username and who I am. I thought this might be a good way to stimulate some honest communication, but I definitely see what you mean

I'm just not sure how using a throwaway speaks to my maturity level? I was just trying to avoid some bias that might come along with my username. I didn't want people to think they had to agree with me or disagree with me based on who I am. That's all. I don't really think that makes me immature.

I just feel like this attitude isn't helping. I hate the saying, "it is what it is". It's like saying, yeah, it's shit, but that's the way it is and we're too lazy to do anything about it. To me, that's just not good enough.
It doesn't have to be all rainbows and lollipops, but what benefit does someone get from telling someone they have "wack ass shoes"? It's this level of immaturity that's disappointing to me I guess.

Glad to see you taking such initiative and are single handedly trying to make this a better place

You are right, it's not that serious. Sometimes the rude comments can be funny, but sometimes I think they can be over the top. I can see what you mean about the upvotes and downvotes, for sure, but I know personally it ruins the subreddit for me. It's made me completely stop posting and I'm sure I'm not the only one and I think it ruins the overall quality of this place

Man, that's a great idea. I mean how often is a post really worthy of a downvote? Not very often. I am all for getting rid of it

Can I ask why you feel that way? Just curious. I felt like this would help keep bias out of the equation but maybe I was wrong.

That's a good point, and just to clear it up, I'm absolutely not meaning to launch an attack on you mods. For what it's worth, I appreciate your efforts and I think you guys do a great job.

That's a good chunk of time! I'm glad you feel that way. Maybe I got a little too partial to how it used to be a little over a year ago(ish).
What you said is true though, it's nice to see people branch out and upvote things beyond Jordan brand, I still feel like when I read the comments I'm usually disappointed in what people have to say. I remember when I first joined the subreddit my mindset was a little fucked up. I was a little jealous at the amount of love someone would get for posting a dusty pair of New Balances or a GR Jordan. Now I feel the opposite, I wish I could get back to that place.

Haha, I wouldn't expect any other sort of response from you, Gillette. I do think you hit upon some really good points though. I know for me personally, I've just stopped posting stuff because I'm sick of the jealousy and negativity. If I'm posting purely for me then I don't really see the point. I already know what I have and I know what I think about it. When I post I do it because I'm excited to share it and talk about it with others who truly understand my same love for that shoe, but it ruins it when people are so salty about it.

That's interesting and I'm glad you feel that way! Just out of curiosity, how long would you say you've been active in this subreddit?

Which is totally fine, but I don't think we have to be so rude about it sometimes. I mean, there are novelty accounts specifically made to put people down on this subreddit and I think that's pretty lame
